Feminism

Yeah I know strange title for a Feminist Only DIR, but I had a somewhat fun and strange question.
I have been watching Feminist and Anti feminist videos on Youtube(some are funny, some more serious, some downright scary) and ran across Feminist Frequency. Albeit, the woman puts me to sleep. I don't know if its her voice or the subjects she speaks about, but last night I was watching her 2011 series of the Feminist tropes. Some I vastly disagreed with, while others were okay made a little sense.
But my question is this:
What was your first Media introduction to Feminism?

Mine, as far as I can remember, was The World according to Garp(the movie of course) and the Ellen Jamesians of the story.

I cant remember for sure either..I think it might have been when I was a little girl I do have memories of seeing women marching down the street with signs and swinging their bras around. They were on the news.

I don't remember, either. I was introduced to Feminism, along with all the other girls there, in an auditorium at grade school.

I tried answering this yesterday and got booted off the internet. Darn it all to heck. :D

My first media introduction to feminism was when I marched with my mother and other protestors for NOW, as well as reading a bit of Ms. Magazine that my mother subscribed to. I also helped stuff envelopes for the E.R.A. All this when I was maybe 4 or 5? I don't know. But it seems feminism has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.

As far as films are concerned? Victor/Victoria I really liked, and that it challenged gender roles and sexuality. 9 to 5 and Flashdance were others I really enjoyed when I was younger. Tootsie was appreciated for the intent of a man to live the life as a woman and discovers it ain't so easy as he thought.

My dad tried to get me to read the Intelligent Woman's guide to Capitalism and Socialism when I was a teenager, but I only made it through a few chapters. Tank Girl was probably my first media experience that really sunk in.

I was mad for Pippi Longstocking and Nancy Drew when I was a kid, come to remember it...

Although Nancy spent way to much time getting dressed, doing her hair and going on dates with Ned to be a feminist role model.

Oh yeah!! Pippi Longstocking!! I loved her!!

I went dressed up as her for "Book Day" in Elementary school. I had wire in my orange-sprayed hair to hold up the braids. My hair was so long I just about took out a few eyeballs. Good old Pippi.
