The pro-Trump brothel owner Dennis Hof was elected to Nevada’s state legislature on Tuesday. What’s notable about this race is that the 72-year-old Hof died nearly a month ago.

I feel sorry for the Dem who lost against a dead person.

I'm still trying to figure out what happens... does the Democrat default to winning? Do the Republicans go with their second choice? I'm so confused...

What are you talking about? He only just looked dead.

Spend A weekend with Hof. Just keep in mind he's the quiet type , doesn't say or do much, but he's a lot of fun and he's hip with those cool shades he's wearing lately.

According to an article I read yesterday (Dead brothel owner Dennis Hof wins Nevada election), county officials will appoint a Republican to fill the seat.

Although, it must be rather humiliating for the Democratic candidate to lose to a dead guy.

It Aint Necessarily So

The same thing happened in the Missouri senate race in 2000. Democratic governor Mel Carnahan died in an airplane accident in mid-October of 2000, and still beat Republican incumbent John Ashcroft, which freed Ashcroft up to become Bush's attorney general.

This appears anti-democratic.
The dead guy won, as a dead guy. He should sit his term.
Sure, he won't be passing many motions (be they legislative or bodily-function related) but he is completely beyond corruption, never tells a lie, and is beholden to no lobby groups.

But with a dead guy in there, wouldn't the legislature start to stink after a while?

Oh wait...
