First impressions lasting..

Do you believe first impressions always last?

My first impression of RF was a bunch of Christian dudes with tambourines and ladies that spoke about whether miniskirts were (as t3gah would say) "of Satan the devil".

That impression did not last long.

I also got the impression everyone hated me here. Feathers and Mr C were the first to break that impression

Do they last? Really?

Everyone changes so it may be possible that your first/second/third impressions of some people may change as well.

This is the first Forum I've ever joined; I thought I might feel less 'threatened', as I am no good 'in a crowd'. Contrary to what I originally thought, it feels 'worse' in a way, because I can't see people's expressions.

As someone who's been a member of several forums over the years, I think that this has really been the only forum that allows for second or third impressions. We are all continually evolving, in our attitudes about ourselves, about others and about different topics. Curiously enough, this just seems to make our bonds stronger.

I do think that several of my first impressions of various people here have been off the mark, and am glad that we've been able to get to know each other.

(And Michel, if it helps, picture frubals as being the other peoples' expressions about how much they like your posts. They seem to like them a lot!)
