We should remember that there are videos of Wade, the associate moron at Dove, burning Korans on YouTube.

They are already doing it. The 9/11 stunt is just going to burn more.

If I had my way, I'd burn every Koran, every Bible, every Book of Mormon, and any other book of nonsense that aspires to indoctrinate the minds of the illiterate, the gullible, the uneducated, the misguided or the unwary who seek a little meaning in their lives.

As history amply attests, the result of such indoctrination is always the same: intolerance to any opposing viewpoint or argument, which entails the rejection of sound reason and science, which ultimately motivates the beguiled followers to extreme acts of violence and war.

Good riddance to these cancerous menaces.

A book is just a book. It can't hurt you if you don't let it. Experience has shown that the people burning the books are always more dangerous than the books themselves.

Nevertheless, if people want to burn books -- as long as they're not old, rare, irreplaceable books -- let them have at it. Just think how disappointed that moron in Florida would have been if he'd had his bonfire and nobody paid any attention to him at all.

Over the past couple of months I have come to a realization... what purpose does it serve me to be antagonistic towards any other religion just because I dont believe in it? Why should I waiste my time hateing? Everyone has a right to believe and practice their own ways, so long as they don't try to force their beliefs on me. What a boreing world it would be if we all thought the same way. This is why I never force my way of thinking upon anyone, my beliefs are my own and nobody elses. I suppose I am, what I call, "Xepering"... I am beginning to further mature in a spiritual and in an intellectual sense.

Adramelek,
Your self praise for achieving spiritual intellectual maturity is a little premature.

Here's another deep realization for you to help you mature:
Whenever an ideology, religious or otherwise, threatens to destroy your freedom, your human rights, your entire way of life, it's time to be less complacent and a bit antagonistic.

Had you been a Jew in Nazi Germany, I suspect you might not chirp, "what purpose does it serve me to be antagonistic towards any other religion [ideology] just because I dont [sic] believe in it? Why should I waiste [sic] my time hateing [sic]?"

Dear Andys,

Believe me, I understand your point. But remember I also said "unless thy try to force their beliefs on me." What I meant by this was that yes I am tolerant up to a point, but you better believe that I will be like a lion if my personal rights and freedoms come under attack. Please andys do not be so quick to judge me just because of one post, your post shows that you know very little about me. I will gladly kill and if need be die to protect my rights and freedoms; just ask anybody who does know me - UltraViolet, Orias, Sireal, they will tell you. Again, I am tolerant, but my tolerance goes only so far.

Adremelek,
I am relieved that you are not complacent about religions or ideologies that pose a threat to our human rights. Naturally, others are free to believe what they want as long as their actions do not pose a threat.

It troubles me that there are so many people of the opinion that religions are benign and preach only love. Islam, for example is a major political force on our planet which threatens every aspects of our lives. Other, seemingly altruistic religions fly under the radar. Yet they undermine and openly oppose scientific inquiry when certain findings contradict their superstitious beliefs and dogma. Christians, for example, aggressively lobby school boards to alter textbooks to remove text that does not conform to their antiquated beliefs about the origin of species including man. The Catholic church opposes birth control to be made available to third world countries. The list is endless.

Yet these unholy institutions are viewed by our societies as benevolent and above the law.

Therefore, I am always suspicious when I hear someone exclaim that it serves no purpose to be antagonistic towards religions because everyone has a right to believe and practice in their own way.

Koran burning Pastor to be hit with 100,000 pounds bill for security

Florida church Pastor Terry Jones, who sparked controversy over his plans to burn the Koran on the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, has been hit with a 100,000 pounds bill to cover the cost of police security for the stunt.

More than 200 police, including members of a SWAT team, were on duty outside the Dove Outreach Church in Gainesville where Jones planned his mass burning of the Muslim Holy Book.

The huge security was reportedly not removed even after the plans were called off following criticism from the US diplomats, including President Barack Obama.

City officials in Gainesville said they planned to send Jones the security bill but Jones has refused to pay up.

"If we had known this in advance, then we would have refused to have security," The Daily Mail quoted him, as saying.

The local police bill comes to more than 50,000 pounds and the Sheriff's office has a similar bill from putting almost all of their officers on duty.

Free publicity and a Hyundai...
Back in the days leading up to the 9/11 anniversary, a New Jersey car dealer named Brad Benson made Jones a peculiar offer: call off the Quran-burning in exchange for a new car. Even though Jones did eventually cancel the universally condemned plan, Benson didn't actually expect Jones to take him up on the offer. Benson is something of a specialist in putting together outlandish publicity stunts in order to get people chattering about his dealership--for example, he'd previously offered Saddam Hussein a new car if the dictator would flee Iraq.

Jones' representative "said unless I was doing false advertising, they would like to arrange to pick up the car," Benson told the AP's Brad DeFalco. Thinking that the whole thing might be a hoax, Benson asked to see a copy of Jones' driver's license. Sure enough, the regionally renowned publicity stunt artist was indeed being contacted by the world-famous publicity stunt artist, seeking to take ownership of a new car.

After some deliberation, Benson--a former lineman for the New York Giants--resolved to stay true to his word and hand over a 2011 Hyundai Accent, which retails for $14,200.

So now he can sell that car to pay off some of those 100,000 pounds he now owes.

Quick question though, if this is taking place in America why does the article about him being charged for security mention the amount in pounds?
