For the Antiabortionist

The prime tenet of the antiabortion movement is that the unborn baby is a human with a right to life. In support of this it's pointed out that:

"An objective, fact-based report describing the day-by-day development of the unborn child, with each fact sourced by a reference to the scientific and medical literature. The facts show the unborn child quickly develops the organs and systems that a newborn has. It moves like a newborn. It has senses. It can learn. The author concludes that the unborn child must be a human life and invites interested persons to consider the scientific data."

So, taking this into consideration and looking at the diagram of fetal development below, at what point do you place the first appearance of the "unborn child" that qualifies as a "human life"?

For the days in weeks 1 through 10 please designate the appropriate day by indicating the week and column it falls under. For weeks 11 through 38 just indicate which one.

It would be fantastic if the people who have had abortions understand that they are taking away a potential child, not viewed as a nuisance from a one night stand. I'm all for freedom, and know there are exceptions. A 19 year old gal having a baby will have a huge strain on the mother and father, and the baby may or may not be raised properly. And when it endangers the mother's life, i say pull the plug.

I believe those topics are between you and God or whatever you chose to believe or not believe in. I have had an abortion, and it does something inside you that changes you forever; a deep emptiness and sadness. I committed murder. I did it for my own selfish reasons. I believe life begins at the moment of conception and that every life is sacred and significant. If I could do it over I would not have done it. However, no one should decide anyone else's moral decisions. I'm clearly anti-abortion but everyone has the freedom to make their own choices. There are so many wonderful and loving couples who long and yearn for a baby to love and we are killing them and putting them in dumpsters. Truly sad.

I say 1A. Life begins at conception, and I think abortion should, ideally, only be on the table when the mother's life is in danger. But "should be" and "what is legal" are often two very different things based on your moral compass.

My criterion for having a "right to life" is simple: if an organism understands morality (can understand complex ideas, like rights, love etc), or has the eventuality (will if left unhindered) to understand morality; then that person has the right to human life. So, right to life extends from the moment of conception (in my opinion), because from that moment, the embryo, if left unhindered, will become a human being (moral agent).
