For Transgender Members: Sentiment Survey

Hi, all,

A few years ago, we (the staff) started a poll focused on conservative members of RF following our observations that some of them had been feeling increasingly alienated from the forum:

The poll was part of an effort to address the underlying issues that had led to their sentiments, and the feedback on that effort was overall quite positive following its conclusion.

Similarly, we are now interested to know how transgender members of RF feel about the forum climate and whether they feel welcome here. This thread is to gauge their sentiments and inform our policies moving forward.

If anyone would like to provide feedback via PM or in Site Feedback rather than in this thread, feel free to do so.

Please avoid any debating in this thread. Its sole purpose is for transgender members to provide their thoughts on the question as directly and in as much detail as possible.

Thank you.

Sometimes i feel welcomed. I do like how folk defend transfolk on here sometimes. But other times i feel unwelcome. It's hard dealing with my existence being constantly debated and reading some the more negative replies do get to me sometimes. One user I dont know who or what thread and i dont wish to call anyone out and i believe the staff took care of it anyway basically said trans folk shouldn't be allowed to be trans. Then another user agreed with them that bothered me however other members were quick to disagree with them.

Ive always appreciated how I'm never alone in the subject here, there's more supporters than haters and the rules prohibit methods if bullying and harassment like intentionally misgendering people.
The issue is more when some wanker comes along and forgets common decency amd start asking inappropriate things that you're not supposed to ask anyone, such as questions ablut genitals. But that's not against the site, just people who forgot what manners are.
