Fortuna strikes again!

an anarchist

Your local loco.
TLDR: how has your God(s) interacted with you recently? Fortuna watches over me.

Today, at work, I think I prevented a catastrophic fire. I happened to step outside the back door. When I outside I notice there's a huge fire right by the dumpsters next to the metal thingy we dump all of the restaurant's dirty oil in. I run around inside and start yelling "Fire!" repeatedly. The manager rolls thru with the fire extinguisher and checks it out. We had to open a gate that you couldn't really see through so we couldn't really tell what was on fire. If the grease was on fire we were waiting for the firefighters to show up. It happened to be the linen bags full of dirty towels and aprons that were engulfed. The grease trap right next to it was dangerously close though, so my boss put out the flames. If the fire spread any further, I think there would've been an explosion or something. There's just so much oil in that thing and the floor was all greasy too. No clue what started the fire.

The store was fortunate that I happened to go outside at that moment. Was just doing my job. That woulda been bad for all us employees if the place had to shut down because of a serious fire outside. We need our money.

Now I'm not in a place where I am actively worshipping my gods that I have decided to believe in. The reason being I'm ashamed of my current state of affairs and don't want them to see me like this I guess. I am far from properly serving them, but I still feel Fortuna's presence. For me, today was a reminder that she watches over me. I bring her with me where I go, lucky for my store. I bring fortune with me, for better or worse. It is significant to me that I was the one who found the fire. I'm reading in between the lines maybe.

Congrats on averting a disaster @Xavier Graham. I'm glad nobody was hurt.

My latest gift from God arrived two days ago:

It's spring so I'm starting to get ready for bicycle camping season.

In preparation for that I needed to pick up a new backpacking tent, so I had plans to hit a few thrift stores on Thursday.

Twice now in recent years I've been able to find the same model two person, camouflage dome tent at thrift stores for (I think) $10 both times.

I can't use the one I was using last year because one of the poles broke and the fabric is smelling a little musty now, but I really like that model because it's super light and easy to set up.

I also like the camouflage feature, less likely to attract unwanted visitors, and the camouflage for this particular model is mostly different shades of brown rather than green, so it blends well with the foliage in the eucalyptus forests that I usually camp in.

I could have picked one up on Amazon for like $30 (although I couldn't find that particular shade of camouflage there), but I dont like to buy anything new unless I have to.

So, Thursday morning as I was getting ready to ride into town I was thinking: "Wouldn't it be nice if I could find another one of those. Could happen, since it's happened twice before".

The first thrift store I hit had a few tents but nothing that would work for me.

But at the second thrift store I went to, I found this:

It's exactly the same make, model and color scheme that I was looking for. Exactly the same tent.

And check out the price:

Looking forward to trying it out.

I'm convinced my son has the God he was named for watching over him.

The kid has stuck his head through the living room window without receiving a scratch and went down a flight of stairs and chuckled at the bottom. He seldom gets ill. When he was in school, half the kids and staff could be ill, but he'd never get it(he actually never vomited until he was about 3... scared the hell out of him, he had no idea what was going on).

He's also picked up a good bit of his personality, to the point I have a description of the namesake I read and family thinks I'm describing my son.

This has significantly toughened me by association. :D

I have two core theologies that will develop into two different theologies.
My personal God is of that of syntheism. My impersonal God is of that of panendeism.
Both will eventually come together to become monotheism as we create the Syntheos of The Omniverse.
We will also develop technology to make all things everlasting, possessing souls, therefore, we will also develop an animistic omnitheism.

So our current reality as I perceive it is syntheistic/panendeistic and is shifting towards a monotheistic/omnitheistic reality, which everything becomes more Godlike and divine over time. That is how I perceive God.

Almost sounds like you should have named him Achilles.

Happy for your quick thinking, but it was clearly you and not a God.

There are as much disasters occurring just as much as it's caught and delt with.

It's just being at the right place at the right time.
