[The Sum of Awe]

I'm not exactly sure where to put this...

On the old server I would often go to my profile and click on either Posts by User or Threads by User and on the side there'd be an image of an envelope that'd have an animation if there were unread posts after that post. I found that very helpful.

On the current server there are Alerts, which are great, I love'em. But it only alerts you of replies if somebody quotes your post, and there are occasions that people will respond to a post of yours in a thread without quoting your post, and it is very common that people will respond to a thread of yours without quoting it either.

I went under my postings on my profile but I didn't see anything that lets you know if there are replies after that post, like the envelope I mentioned earlier.

Is there a way to know that by scanning through your postings and not having to click on the thread and find out? Could there be a way if there is not?

In what sense? Updates of whom? Is that number going to grow into the millions? It is kind of annoying up there, if it has no connection to me.

There is a small drop down menu immediately to the right of the word 'Media'.
In there, you can Mark as Viewed, which reduces the number to 0 (ie. removes alert). Obviously it starts building up again, so this isn't a full answer, but does take care of the 'grow into millions' part of your question.

Does anyone know how long it takes to time out? Before the move it was about 25 minutes, I think. Then, when you'd come back you were still signed in. Now, if you log out due to non activity, you have to log back in. Just curious how long it takes to auto log out. Thanks!
