All non-denominational Christian organizations and non-denominational Christian preachers and bloggers are Protestants who have come to deny their Protestantism. This is Protestantism, but Protestantism in self-negation.

Atheism is theism in self-negation.

In both cases it is Nihilism: self-negation, zero.

Osteen is a con man.

His followers are not sheep, but cattle to be milked.

Weither he is Protestant is anybodys guess.

I doubt he is even religious, other than a facade of being religious.

Osteen - not "Fr." Osteen, please note - seems to be an American Protestant televangelist, who failed to graduate from Anal Roberts University but is now worth $50m. Joel Osteen - Wikipedia

His interpretation of Christianity seems to be somewhat less bigoted and narrow-minded than that of the previous generation of televangelists, but he appears to go in for the "prosperity gospel" schtick, which looks very much like a way to sucker poor people into wasting their money supporting his church, in the hope that it will make them wealthier.

From my perspective, non-denominational Christian congregations, which are practically Baptist, are not so much Protestant but Protestant-derived. Were it not for Protestantism, by which I mean Lutheranism, Reformed, Anglicanism, Presbyterianism, and Methodism, there would not be the non-denominational Christian movement that we see today.

I doubt he is even religious, other than a facade of being religious.

Looking at the covers of his books, I think you are right to doubt Osteen is religious.

Wait... supporting his church can make me wealthier?? I'll write him a check first thing in the morning!
