Is it normal?
It is not.
Because in my country ancient churches are restored and preserved by a specific Ministry, the Ministry of Culture.
Not only churches, even ancient or historical buildings.

I wonder how that reflects christian values, fixing "gods"It depends on the cost, architectural and cultural significance.
Not to far from us was a derelict abbey. Its been rebuilt using traditional methods and materials originally used to build it.
A little further away is a 4th century Roman church, it is still in use and costs a fortune on continuous maintenance.
Belgium demolished even an ancient bridge. So it has nothing to do with religion.I wonder how that reflects christian values, fixing "gods"
house instead of helping the poor
I guess there is coal-rich soil underneath it.Germany too...o my God
They are building mosques instead. Muslims are having more babies I guess.

They aren't building them here in China. They are building mosques instead. Muslims are having more babies I guess.
In USA they build these mega "churches" ( rec centers).Sounds about right, good Christian message

I think it's more parts of Europe than other places. They aren't building them here in China.
Well, some European countries have official religions, so it makes sense. It actually is a benefit though, because it reduces proselytizing since the churches get money from the government, so few people actually go to church. Thanks for the info.Actually there are over 100,000 churches in france.
And 2 200 mosques.500 synagogue's and 300 Buddhist temples.
A further 200 mosques are planned
The thing is muslims are paying for their mosques to be built. Christianity expects the state to pay.
There's plenty of space for both. They are building mosques instead. Muslims are having more babies I guess.
So much the worse for them.I think it's more parts of Europe than other places.
Cover gods green earth with buildings and parking lots. There's plenty of space for both.
I think it's cancel culture Dismantling of gothic bridge met with protest and dismay in Belgium
European churches are generally attractive. Sometimes it's just too expensive to renovate. I wish US churches were pretty. Many are in schools. So much the worse for them.
