From where you came, and where you will go ?

#59 deserves the exact same reply -- I think that you are trying to make the conversation simpler than the topic actually is. Doing so certainly makes things easier to discuss, but it has the side effect of making the conversation false.

This threads about non-believers in God not about faith in felines

Nope, I checked. It is about where one thinks they came from and where they think they are going after they die.

U and I believe in a different jesus

I don’t put any faith in Jesus. Even though his empathy was legendary, I never met him and so put no faith in him at all. That isn’t a slight on who he was but I lack any such relationship.

If NO, then okay.
If Yes, then please share any of your guess/es please.

If you’re still around, I have a lot of speculation about what we are, how we came about and how life and death are to be understood. But I’m not in such a hurry for answers that I’m looking for a teacher or an authoritative account to settle these things.

The person currently holding court for believers seems to be locked in a defensive posture with no interest in the questions themselves or in hearing from people with a different POV.

This question is for the people who don't believe in the existence of God.

Do you also don't wanna search from where you came, and where you will go ?
Shoot, I believe in God, so I can't answer?
Right about now I don't care where I came from or where I am going, I just want to go somewhere where it is about 30 degrees cooler.
Can someone order God to turn down the thermostat? Tell Him He got His states mixed up and this is not Arizona.

Nobody can give definitive answers to these questions. I don't know would be the honest answer. The search is one I say yes to.

My guess is that existence is very substantive and has always been far far less than divine. Who knows if the battle between good and evil has always raged wherever life found a way to exist. Perhaps there are beings who have always existed, but you'll never find a God or gods. Or poof, out of nothing life comes , and goes; I never bought into that though because it sounds ridiculous.

I came from my parents made from recycled atoms, (possibly including the atoms of long dead people)... No guess involved there.

Where will i go? The crematorium. From there it's not me but the aroms that made me.

The 1st law of thermodynamics tells me my atoms will go on forever. They will be recycled as i was and go to enrich the earth, the plants, etc and yes, even future humans. In that way we are all made of dead people.

Looking even further ahead our sun will die, the atoms of my body may go on to help create other suns other planets, other life or just float in space for ever.

Where i go is something of a guess, thermodynamics tells me i will go but not where i will go.
As far as atoms going on forever...do they think?

My hunger for knowing where I came from was satisfied by studying the genealogy of my family, and the history of human societies, and the anthropology of my species, and the evolution of life, and astronomy and cosmology.

As for where I am going? Of course I'm curious. But I also recognize that multiple answers are proposed, with varying amounts of evidence in favor or against. But it is the stories, more than the facts, that inspire me; the myths and poetry and fiction and speculation that I find satisfying, not in knowing or believing one thing over another...the dreams of what may yet be, and the artistic yearning to express the terror and wonder of being a sentient being in a vast and awesome cosmos...
