Frubalmania - Can't keep up anymore!

Back in the day, people created threads when someone reached 100,000...

Now, some members can give nearly that much in a single frubal.

With frubal power increasing exponentially, some people are reaching new million milestones in a matter of days. We also have had an influx of great new members moving up the frubal ladder quickly. Other member announcements get buried in the constant pile of "Yawn - Sunstone gets yet another million" threads.

I'm having a hard time keeping up. I missed several members' million milestones without ever realizing it. It's taking more and more time to keep up, and I'm too old for this.

As for me, I'm going to have to cut back and do recognition threads on milestones farther apart, like every 5 million or something equally arbitrary. So... If you hit a milestone that means something to you, and I don't point it out, please don't take it personally.

Maybe some of you youngsters can keep the pace, but *wheeze* I'm out.

I don't think people will take much offense to it.....just me. Good thing my frubal milestones only come around with as much frequency as the Chicago Cubs going to the World Series.

Maybe every 10,000,000 should be the new frubal apex.

I gave up recently myself.

Maybe 1,000,000 -- 10,000,000 -- 20,000,000 -- 30,000,000..... etc.

Inflation has made it impossible to keep up.

Frubals are not worth what they used to be.

Frankly speaking, it was a great idea to keep the ball rolling at RF! but it appears a pleasant distraction that RF! can do without, NOW.
Your posts itself is a sign of IT.

Well, as a staff member it is upto you and the others managing must decide. Whatever it is, preferably decision should be HERE-NOW before it starts messing up.
Its again a personal opinion. Medals are absolutely fine BUT again for that am again suggesting that Ballot papers with nominations in each category by staff already given with another option for the member to nominate his own candidate or decline to vote for anyone for the said category. This should be sent via PM to each member and finally tally declared after a given date is over.
Yes, as Neo-Logic had raised the topic, surely a face-lift of the site is called for. Change is the only thing permanent and one must always live with it.

What are you talking about Zen? Getting rid of the frubal system?
No way. I LOVE sending and recieving frubal comments.
What I can't do is spend half my time on congratulating people.
Then I can't be personal either.
It becomes like a "Congrats" Stamp.
Which is fine, but it's not my style.
There's nothing for any staff member to decide really.

I've decided I'm going to send out my congrats the way I said,
in my previous post.
1,000,000 -- 10,000,000 --20,000,000 -- 30,000, 000.
This makes more sense to me in today's frubal economy*.

But others are free to do as they wish.

The MOST important thing about frubals,
are the little messages that come with them. :rainbow1:

It is assumed that democracy gives each one certain rights which should be exercised and only because not everyone participates that defeats the very purpose f it.

What would you say is the objective of this forum and would you agree that religion is all about doing something to shed one's *ego* or to feed on that same very *ego*; could surely be a starting point of a healthy discussion.

Besides to enlarge on the democratic rights would like you to suggest RF on the artistic front eg. the opening page etc. as to what necessary changes do you feel could look more artistic which appears to be your forte seen through your thoughts and posts.

The very purpose of it (for me) is connection with people.
Expressing appreciation for well communicated thoughts & ideas,
sharing laughter, jokes, flirting, giving someone encouragement.
For me all fun & good stuff.

The point of the forum is not for people to "shed their ego" either.
Creating my own "altar/alter" ego, is my greatest and most personal art form.
Underneath I am observer.
None of this has anything at all to do with frubals. IMO.

Just for clarification: Posting those milestone threads was something I did for fun on my own, not an "assignment" or Staff policy. There was never any discussion among Staffers about it. Likewise, my reduction in frequency is strictly a personal decision about how to better use my time here.

I enjoy seeing suggestions from you and others to keep RF a dynamic, fun place people will want to continue visiting. Site Feedback is the appropriate venue to share ideas with the Staff.
