I lack any knowledge of the coin system, except for being able to put it in a bank and to use it for special things, like changing your title. *hugs her new title happily*
Frubals are the same thing as what's known as 'reputation' on other forums. In general, the more you have, the more people find your posts insightful, worthwhile, funny or kind. (Or even better, all of the above!) It also reflects how long you've been a member, since someone who has been around awhile is more prone to having more than a person who hasn't.
If you hover your cursor over the green 'points' bar, it usually displays a message, based on how many frubals the person has. For example, currently yours says that you're "really nice", which is spot on, hehee! HelpMe has a spectacular aura, likewise accordingly.
Every once in a blue moon, you will see someone who has managed to get a negative number for their frubal points. Moderators and supporting members have the ability to 'de-frubal' someone, usually for an offensive post.
I'm honestly not sure how you can determine how many frubals you are giving someone. I don't think there is any way of controlling it, but I think how many you give is influenced by how many you have. (They recieve more frubals from a person with 100 frubals 'frubalizing' them, as opposed to someone with 50.) Some people have recommended giving a person frubals, then pressing the 'Refresh' button, and seeing how many points have been added to that persons' bar. That way, you'll know for sure!
Also, I think you already know this, but frubals are anonymous unless you 'sign' them (write your name at the end). I love it when people sign frubals, so I can return their generosity in kind, or thank them via PM.

What you give in frubals is the amount of the frubals you have divided by 250. I'm not sure what the formula is for negative frubals but it is quite a bit less.
Coins are earned by your posting activity. You get $5.00 for a new thread, $1.00 for a post, and some coins for reading a thread. The banks pays 2% interest per day (compounded) on the amount deposited in the bank.

You have more faith in search than me. I just did a search on "frubals" and got a list of threads having nothing to do with the subject. All I was suggesting is that it would be helpful to newcomers to sticky this info somewhere obvious, so they don't have to be puzzled. Not a big deal, we're all seekers.
