Further Information About Decline Of Democrat Run Areas.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Strong words. What is your view of Mississippi, West Virginia and Alabama? Republican utopias?

West Virginia has a 27% college education rate, California has 41%. WV median income is $24k, in CA it’s $40k.

Arkansas has the most meth use of any state.

How can this be, in enlightened red MAGA country far from the evil axis of Californians and New Yorkers?

Well do the aforementioned states contain a concentrated human cesspool like Frisco?

Going to be hard to top that level in the nation.

Strange about meth use. According to Briarwood Detox from last year, the highest use of meth in the nation is New York and Michigan in a dead heat with California not very far behind, among others in no particular order, mainly Tennessee, and North Carolina, Illinois and Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

Top 10 Meth States in the U.S. | Briarwood Detox Center

Arkansas is not even in the top ten.

Going foreward, a median income dosent mean much if the cost of living is high. Adjust those figures with the area's demographic and there you will get the real economic picture.

...a concentrated human cesspool...

I see you practice 'compassionate conservatism'.

You must know those people and their stories personally to be able to judge them like that, right? Otherwise, you'd just be demonizing some of your fellow Homo sapiens, and -- as we all know from listening to the right wingers on this Forum -- only the left ever demonizes people.

New York has been losing population for decades, even going back to when Republicans like Rockefeller were in charge. The most obvious explanation is climate; people want to move from cold places to warm places, which illustrates the general migration trends over the past decades.

Those stats are based on number of incidents related to meth - of course larger states are going to have more incidents.

Arkansas is #1 in terms of the percentage testing positive for meth. Source: Arkansas leads U.S. in meth use, study finds

Missouri is the meth production capital of America, as measured by number of meth labs per 100,000 residents. Source: Study ranks Missouri #1 in meth manufacturing

Again, how can this be, in the red MAGA utopia of the American deep south, far from the California and New York axis of evil?

If New York is a “cesspool” in your view, where the poverty rate is 13%, how do you describe West Virginia, where business is free from Democrat tyranny, the governor is a Republican billionaire capitalist, and yet the poverty rate is 18%?

Don’t get me wrong - CA and NY have huge problems. Just curious if you really want all of America to be one giant Arkansas, or if you just enjoy dissing CA and NY. I suspect it’s the latter.

By the way - Biden is from Delaware. Just a reminder.

Yet another political thread from one or another person on one or the other side of the aisle with a childishly simple thesis. In this case, it's, "All Democrats are incompetent to run governments." But what next? Is someone on the left going to start a thread, "All Republicans are mean"?

@esmith, your scheme is to bore me to death, isn't it? Well, at least I can cure my insomnia now by thinking about what the world must look like to you.

Not that you're a boring person, but your ideas! Sheesh!
Sorry about that, but I guess as a Staff Member you have to read them:p
Your constant negativity about conserverties don't bore me, I enjoy a good laugh once in-awhile.

Whaaaa Whaaaa! You lost, get over it.
I warned you before 2016 what would happen to the Republican party if Trump won.
You've lost your party and your media.
Now, it's just insanity. Your beliefs are falsehoods.

From your link...
Michigan (220 incidents) Pop 9,000,000 .000024
New York (220 incidents) Pop 18,000,000 .000012
Indiana (144 incidents) Pop 6,000,000 .000024

NY is actually half per capita of Mich and Ind.

Now that Trump has killed the COVID relief bill, which included a provision to prevent renters from being kicked out, there will be a lot more homeless people.

Yay Donnie! The Great-Orange-Humanitarian.

I guess a question is why would a veteran of the U.S. Armed Services support Trump, who has thumbed his nose at the vets numerous times and only pandered to them to get their vote?

This thread would be a lot more interesting if it was just about the problems California and New York are facing, instead of trying to tie it to a political party.

If we are going to play that game, let’s do it right.

Take the US News and World Report ranked 50 best places to live in America.

Nine of the top ten mayors of these wonderful places are ... drumroll ... DEMOCRATS! ;)

Rayleigh Durham - D
Des Moines - D
Minneapolis- D
Portland - D
Seattle - D
San Francisco - D
Fayetteville - R
Colorado Springs - (edit: R)
Denver - D
Austin - D

Aw, the Republicans made the top ten list with their one city. That’s nice. Enjoy your participation award.

For further information about the growth and desirability of these Democrat run areas, please visit: The 50 best places to live in America, ranked - Business Insider

How many of the people fleeing California and New York are resettling in Republican controlled utopias? Just curious.

** edit: Original post got the mayor wrong for Colorado Springs. Thanks, Sunstone! **
But you're not feeding the stereotype of the OP-- shame on you!!! ;)

At least he hasn't started any more military conflicts like some other Presidents.
As a "veteran" I may not appreciate all of us "comments" (whether actaul or preceived) but I have more respect for him than I did President Obama, or do for the President-elect Biden.

I sympathize with the sentiment that we don’t need to be starting more military conflicts.

And, by the way, thank you for your service.

But isn’t it a bit odd to start off defending Trump because he hasn’t started military conflicts, and then criticize Obama/Biden? Did they start a lot of military conflicts? I’ll admit Obama did not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize but as far as I’m aware, he didn’t start the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan. He did kill Osama Bin Laden though.

Joe Biden didn’t start the Iraq War. GW Bush did. Biden voted to authorize use of force in the hope it would give leverage in negotiations to allow WMD inspectors to work. He was wrong, and admitted he was wrong.

GW Bush got it wrong on WMD, started an unnecessary second war while Afghanistan was still raging, and then declared “Mission Accomplished”. He’s a teensy bit more responsible than one US Senator.

Obama was no peacenik but he didn’t start a war.

Obama/Biden began their administration with 30,000 US troops in Afghanistan. They completed the planned drawdown of US troops in December 2016 to about 8,000.

Trump increased US troops in Afghanistan to 11,000 by 2017 and to 13,000 by February 2020, reversing the drawdowns by Obama.

Obama and Biden are not doves. But to try to say Trump’s tantrums are okay because at least he hasn’t started wars, like Biden, is just flailing coming from the party that most enthusiastically supported the wars and criticized Obama/Biden for not being hawkish enough. It’s just bizarre, like many aspects of Trump support.

And the troops Trump has promised to bring home?
It only shows that the Pres has no command over the military. If they don't want to go, nothing will happen. (Not one soldier has left Germany yet - and they won't under Biden.)

While Trump hasn't started any wars,
his war record is still too violent for me.
