This year’s Assembly was the third largest ever, drawing 4,398 Unitarian Universalists including 2,210 delegates from 623 congregations. They worshipped, gave generously, attended small workshops and joined standing–room–only crowds to hear riveting speakers, listened in rapt silence as Ware Lecturer Mary Oliver read from her poems, and conducted the business of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations.

Great article, Maize. I'm delighted to see that UU is continuing to be so forward looking on so many fronts.

I agree; I have a great respect for U.U.

The Devil's Advocate
Yup, I was there.

And my roommate at GA was one of the members of the UUMFE who advocated stronger language for our Statement of Conscience on Global Warming. The previous version was embarrassingly weak, imo. With a strong SOC and others taking notice of what we do again and record participation at GA, I think that we are on our way to becoming a prophetic voice again. :D

Thanks for posting this article Maize. It reminded me of the AMAZING sermon that we heard during Sunday service, by Rev. Gail Geisenhainer. I urge you all to read it (link below). Of course I loved my minister's sermon when he preached last year at GA, but Gail gave Rob a run for his money!
