Geert Wilders Exposed by Dutch Court, John Oliver, Trevor Noah for BIGOTRY & RACISM

Didn't watch the video, since it's nothing I'm not already aware of, but I'd just like to add to the list: "The Dutch People" exposed Wilders as a man that isn't really liked that much in the Netherlands.

Given the latest election results that is hardly an accurate statement, @dust1n
It is true that he was not able to capture the popular vote, but his party and several other right leaning parties managed to increase their representation in the government. The only parties to lose big time were the sitting coalition government. If anything, this election increased Wilders' power and influence and did nothing to diminish him or his party.

Geert =/= other right-wing parties. For the purposes of being anti-Trumpian platform, no one cares if other right-wing parties soaked up votes. VVD is pro-EU, etc.

Oh, and Wilders' got 5 more seats than in 2014... still less seats then his party had in 2012.

Center-Left party crashed sure... D66 increased its seat to come 4th biggest. Green Party almost doubled its seats.

This is also ignores the fact that still no other party wants to actually form a coalition with Geert's party.

"Media sources speculated that Mark Rutte would seek to form a government with the support of the CDA and D66, with at least one further coalition member required, Christian Union being the most likely candidate."

This basically means Geert's party is alone. No one wants to work with them. So what power do they have given that they literally don't even have access to the coalition that will be responsible for actually getting legislation through?

Hehehe. What self-serving codswallop. :)

Do you seriously believe that had Gilders' won the election that several parties would not have lined up to work with him? Seriously?

Oh and in a nod to the OP, yes, Wilders has been hit with the Dutch, somewhat Draconian, "hate speech" laws. Anyone who has ever followed his cases cannot help but notice that these are largely political attacks by the sitting government to censure someone they (continue to) see as a danger to the brilliance of their leadership. It should be noted that though convicted the court chose not to sentence him. Consider it the Dutch equivalent to a serious tongue lashing.

I no longer much care what John Oliver thinks about anything and do not take the disdain of Comedy Central seriously. So, a kangaroo court opinion and the opinions of a pack of comedians... Nice... BFD

But he didn't, so they didn't, so he doesn't have any power... Had he won the election, obviously the premise of this conversation would be different. I wouldn't be claiming that the Dutch had rejected him had he managed to do better than 13% of the vote and ended up being part of a coalition.

Deal with it? The law states:

"The Dutch Criminal Code § 137(c) criminalizes:[88]

… deliberately giv[ing] public expression to views insulting to a group of persons on account of their race, religion, or conviction or sexual preference."

If you don't like the law, than work to change it. Don't break the law first if you aren't willing to deal with the consequences without whining about it. I have no problem breaking the law if I disagree with it, but don't expect me crying about the fact I was charged with a crime.

WEW LADS. Is this totally irrelevant commentary actually suppose to pertain the discussion that we were supposedly just having?

Ah, nice way to bring up more irrelevant cultural wars. Don't worry, no one in the Netherlands appears to particularly care about John Oliver or Comedy Central. EDIT: Sorry, I just realized you were referring to the OP. I forgot those people were elements of the OP because I didn't watch the video.

I believe that in the not-too-distant future the Dutch will wish Geert had done better in this election.

Dutch Court, John Oliver, Trevor Noah, Greg Shapiro exposes Geert Wilders for bigotry & racism

WHAT DO YOU THINK ???

I think that that was a horrible video. All claims, no evidence. He might or might not be the things the video claimed, but the video provided zero evidence!!
