What do you do for a living? I know some of you are in school, tell us about that.

I sell office supplies and am an outside salesperson.

I'm in school. I am a senior at two high schools (one very small "gifted" school that is still too tiny and limited in its course-offerings to have its own campus, and the "regular" school that is hosting us and where I take all my non-academic classes).

I'm not surprised you are in a "gifted" school. You are very intelligent. I have been very impressed with your posts.

Wow, compared with you all, I'm decidedly boring! :eek:mg: LOL

I've got two great kids that I stay at home and take care of. Never boring here, but sometimes frustrating. So the computer is my outlet to the outside world. I've set up a playroom for the kids, with all their toys, books, puzzles, etc., and my computer so they can play and I can play at the same time. It works, although it gets a bit messy in here quite often.

Anyway, I'm one of those people that, although I'll be 30 this year, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up! But after both kids are in school full time, I'm planning to go back to college and finish my degree, so I still have a little time to think about it.

My dream job has always been owning my own bookstore, someday I'd like to make that happen!

That's the beauty of it all, we can be anything we want to be at any time of life.

I don't know about that. With surgery and hormones about anything can be accomplished.

I think this is a good thread, with just as much value now as it had when it was first 'born'. I know about one or two members (specially those whom I am fond of), but think we could all do with knowing a bit more about each other - one example was the revelation that Jay was a grandfather recently. For some reason, I had never imagined that (I don't know why though).

I was a Bank manager, having worked for one of England's 'big Four' banks for near on 25 years. I had worked in seventeen different branches, and had worked in virtually every single department at one time or another.

Since leaving (due to an inability to cope with stress), I have worked for Charities, been a house husband to give my wife the chance to go out and have her opportunity to 'do her thing' by working - we had both wanted her to be at home to bring up our two sons. After a short time of it, she decided that her memories of working with the public were very much focussed on the 'good bits'. In her time before meeting me, she had been a police woman, a store detective, a secretary, P,A, you name it, she had tried it!;)

Edit: those of you who have posted before can update us, if you like!

I'm a 29 year old husband and father. I have an indoor/outdoor job; I am a pseudo-manager at a semi-trailer rental company. In my free time I'm more or less a day-dreamer. I love art, and books, and music, etc...and I like to try my hand at these things. Most importantly (as far as hobbies go) I love games. I think ping-pong is just about my favorite game.

I'm a junior in college studying human resources management. I'm also working full-time at a bank in the properties department. I have been moving around A LOT and at the moment i'm living with the parents...ugh. And a big part of what i'm doing lately is learning how to date. I have been in serious relationships one after another since I was 13! So I'm new to this whole thing and its affecting every area of my life!

I am working on a PhD in New Testament at Brite Divinity School of Texas Christian University. My current papers include a study of Philippians, Marcion, 2 Cor. 6.14-7.1, and a review of the Stoic philosopher Epictetus.

EDIT: I hang out here to keep the brain juices flowing while at work to help refine my logic and learn about how religion works in the loves of people who actually live outside of the library.

I also enjoy a good fight every once in a while.Knockout

Hmm... I get a little work from my massage therapy training, but what I'm trying to put my heart and soul (what isn't already there, I should say) into is writing. For most of my life, I've had an illness that makes working outside the home very difficult. I was able to struggle through it for about 5 years, but now it has gotten to the point where I've had to apply for Social Security. That's why I'm hoping that my writing will someday be able to earn me a living, so I don't have to be on the other for very long.
