Getting dressed in 1881

I know that there are a lot of these "What was life like long ago?" type videos on YouTube, but this one especially struck a responsive chord in me. It was made by the great-great-granddaughter of a Jewish Hungarian immigrant living in New York City's Lower East Side.

The entire process of getting dressed back then seems exhausting to me, but especially so getting dressed for morning Shabbos services. Thank goodness society doesn't expect us to wear corsets anymore (although, I admit, corsets are still kind of cool).

If you're interested in this sort of thing I'd recommend the following from our government owned tv station

Hoping that's not region blocked...!!!

Thanks, the series looked so interesting that I immediately signed up through Google for a free account with ABC TV Australia. There was no problem signing up -- they even provided a sign-up link for people outside of Australia.

When I created my account and got into the site, I was all excited when I saw all the different Australian show titles come up! It was like being set loose in a Jewish bakery with 1,000 different kinds of rugelach! Wheee!

I searched through the titles for Further Back in Time for Dinner, clicked on the first episode... and then... AND THEN... GAHHHHH! I get this message saying it's not available in my country! So I deleted my account (it took me longer to figure out how to delete it than it took to set it up).

And here I was hoping I might even get to see some uncensored Bluey episodes. Did you know that they censor Bluey here in the U.S.? Apparently, Bluey is too risqué for Americans. I really want to see some risqué Bluey. It's on my bucket list.

A way around that problem is to use a vpn when you log in . Set the vpn to say you are in Australia and voila,

Awww, that sucks!!
As @ChristineM said, a VPN will work, but I'm not sure why they region block. Surely ex-pat Aussies want to see some home cooking whilst overseas?

Anyway...re Bluey, I'm very much aware, and started a thread on the topic right here on RF, albeit a while ago.
In case you want to read comments;

I think it's a copyright issue. Or that's the excuse i received from the BBC when we first moved here.

It was damn annoying, to watch the BBC you should have a TV licence. Ours was valid when we moved here but we were still blocked.

I checked out that topic you started. It's actually the Disney Junior channel over here that has edited out some scatological humor scenes that they deemed inappropriate for family viewing or something. I thought that was stupid, and hopefully Disney will come to their senses and someday air those episodes in their entirety. Especially as word of the series spreads over here and people make their wishes known to see the series episodes as they were originally intended to be seen.

I've heard that Bluey has received a lot of attention in Australia for being a great show in more than just the usual way for the kiddies. They received recognition for the sensitive treatment of what appeared in one episode to have been a flashback to the Mom's miscarriage. The series has also received international recognition for its positive examples of parenting. Not bad for a family of anthropomorphized Australian Heelers!
