Getting letters from so many different universities?

Is this normal to happen? I'm in my junior year in high school, and within the past couple days I have gotten letters from 17 different universities (yes I counted), but most of them say stuff like log into here and get your free college planning guide or a pamphlet or something like that. I'm just wondering if it's normal to be bombarded by letters from so many different universities that are saying essentially the same thing.

Since you're in your junior year, you are the target demographic for applying to and attending college. They want to get their name and info to you so you will consider attending their school.
