Getting Started again, in Iraq

Ok, well, for anyone who read my introduction thread, you know my story, that I was 17 when I abandoned christianity which I had been raised to believe and accepted at the age of 13. I then went in search of other religions. I'd say I know a sufficient amount behind the various theologies of wicca, and that it is not primarily a theological religion, but a religion of practice and divination(worship, rituals, and direct interaction with God/Godess). Now I've been trying to find a religious path to follow, to take up again, and the only one I can think of, that I have the resources for to follow its teachings, is wicca. I can't devote days on end, I can't control what I'll be doing in a day but I can be around nature, even in its most barren form. What I'm looking for is some advice and maybe some reference about how to get back into this path, here in the country of Iraq, with very few resources.

If you have Internet access readily available then at least you have more information than you'll ever practically need as a resource including plenty of Wiccans. :)

As for other resources the tools you might use you can make them and/or use whatever you can find. I imagine you'll probably be practicing alone. Do you have privacy enough for a ritual space? i.e. a place you can perform ritual without interference or controversy?

My advice is this: mold Wicca to fit your lifestyle. Take the teachings of Wicca, and then do what you can, and want to do. Wicca is one of the most versatile religions, in that it can be as complex, or uncomplex as you want it to be. Such as the fact that you don't really need tools, but they are nice to have. The fact that you don't need to celebrate the full moon on the exact night of the full moon, but any of the several days leading up to it.

The Lord and Lady understand your situation, and just want you to do what you are happy with doing. That's the important thing - they want you to be happy.

Blessed be.

Yes, the base here is reasonably sized, and as a result of the fact that there are less then maximum personel here(due to the fact that america is being pulled out), there are places where I can be alone.

Yeah, that's one thing I always loved about wicca, the fact that they don't try to shove things down your throat like dogma and such but they leave it all open to interpretation because that is the essence of what religion is all about and the only true way to find God.
