OMG! I just started rereading that series again because the high school I went to only had the first three books, and the book about Nox hadn't been written yet. The book about Satan I thought was pretty cool how everything was tied together in a way to make the reader sympathetic towards Satan.

One I recommend is Nietzsche The Will to Power. Or anything Nietzsche really. One that got me curious today is one called The Dude and the Zen Master by Jeff Bridges, and apparently I should check out this Sit Down and Shut Up.

I'm an atheist and while atheism isn't a religion, there are a number of good books out there.

"God is not great" and "The god Delusion" are my favorites.

A good translation with a commentary or at the least explanatory footnotes is a massive help in understanding Islam. I like the Abdullah Yusuf Ali translation or the Sahih International version.

I like the Arabic one with Ibn Khatir's hadith ;)

In Arabic the language is just so beautiful and you get a more in-dept understanding of what is said.
Off-course for Non Arabic speakers i recommend a good translation.

On Catholic mysticism one of my favourite books is one published in 1911 by an Anglo-Catholic lady called Evelyn Underhill. Its a true spiritual classic: & you can read it online

Mysticism Index

If you want to read it then please read Part 2 "The Mystic Way" first rather than Part 1, which is quite dense for a rookie :D

She quotes copiously from a huge variety of Catholic mystics from the Middle Ages, as well as to a lesser extent Protestant mystics & Sufis.
