I have days in which I'm content and at peace, joyful. And days when I'm deeply sad, but on those days I still see beauty, just in a different way. Beautiful sadness. I'm not sure what this makes me.

I've been told that I'm "not a 'glass is half empty' person, but a 'glass is shattered and the fluid is all over the table' person." Of course, this person was my youth group teacher, who then proceeded to teach a lesson on how dirty, evil, and sinful all of humankind was, so I'm not sure if she's a reliable source :D.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
The question isn't even really "Is the glass half full or half empty?" The real question is a matter of whether or not people's needs (real or imagined) are satisfied.

I said in the poll that I am an optimist, but that's really not the whole story. 1/2 a glass may be more than enough - but on the other hand, it may fall far below what is really needed.

So I think I would say that overall, I'm optimistic, but I'm realistic to be able to look at each scenario objectively - or at least admit that I'm shelving the objectivity in favor of peace of mind - or a perhaps needed emotional tirade. (I reserve the right to vent - it keeps me from developing ulcers!)

I'm the glass-half-empty person. I'm fairly negative for a variety of reasons, but I try not to spread it.

I am fairly realistic though. I view most things as empty, but for things that are indeed full, I don't try to find reasons to argue that they are empty instead. There are a handful of things I'm positive towards.
