That's a bit vague. Did you expect any answer other than 'no'?Can one have a healthy relationship with God if that relationship is founded on lies?

Can one have a healthy relationship with God if that relationship is founded on lies?
It is the very nature of a relationship with god that it is founded on lies. To go beyond lies, you must go beyond relationship.
If I ever discover a religion that is based on lies, I'll give it some thought.
Seriously, no relationship stands up if it is based on lies. But religion is a bit vague on that regard. In order to recognize a lie, you would first have to find out the truth. Since truth can be subjective, then a lie to one person would not be regarded as a lie to someone else in a lot of cases.
The biggest thing is that religion is not made up with facts, it is made up with beliefs (faith). Beliefs can be translated into opinion.
I like to think of you as that lion in your avatar pic just taping away on the keyboard. Are you a real lion Sunstone cause that would be cool if you are.
"Since truth can be subjective, then a lie to one person would not be regarded as a lie to someone else in a lot of cases. "
Since when is truth subjective?
Since when isn't it?
Truth and facts, to me, are not the same thing.
The truth to me is that The Bee Gees are an amazing singing group. The truth to my mother is that The Bee Gees are awful. Who is to say which of us is wrong?
Fact: The Bee Gees have sold many records.
How does that equate to lying?Any question that is about God(s) is always unavoidably vague.
Have you stopped beating your wife? Can one have a healthy relationship with God if that relationship is founded on lies?
So why compare them?"How does that equate to lying?"
Where did I say it did?
Different taste in music is simply based on the fact that you are two different people and because of your differences you have a different reaction to certain stimulus. This does not prove that truth is subjective.
The truth is neither you nor your mother can walk through a brick wall on your own powers. And no amount of wishing that truth is subjective will change that truth.
The way I see it is that it is a fact I can't walk through walls. All facts can be called truth but not all truth are facts.
