Going Back Home

I am speaking of leaving your Christian Faith and later returning to it for reasons only you would know.

This recently happened to me. I returned to Christianity after some years.

Did this ever happen to any others of you? What drove you away and what brought you back?

This hasn't happened to me (yet at least), but I would be very curious to know why you joined back. Are you willing to share what made you leave and then return? Or is it something very personal and intimate which you'd rather not share? :)

I wouldn't mind. I suppose because Jesus has always had a place in my spirituality. I've always seen his teachings as holding value.

As for why I left Christianity a big reason is that I don't always like the image that some others cast on the Faith and being associated with that.

However, moderate Christians have convinced me that being a Christian who actually tries to follow the teachings of love and showing the world that Christianity is not what some fringe radicals show is a noble cause

Yeah, there are some pretty jacked up Christians, er and/or "christians" out there that are hatin' and not lovin' like they should. Many legalistic, bigoted and prejudiced folks who have had some wrong understanding or teaching. Enough to drive anyone away from that sort of thing. There are enough genuine (not perfect) Christians to be found, though. But I always try to focus on Christ, not people. Christ will never let you down, never leave you or forsake you or cast you out. People will do all those things.
