Going nude or topless at the beach

The following is a result of all the interest shown in trdash's thread "Question about fully nude beaches."

The scenario:

You're on vacation with your best friend (same sex or otherwise) in a country or state or region you've never been to before.

You and your friend decide to go sunbathing at a popular beach. When you get there you're surprised to find that with a few exceptions everyone is nude, even the children. It's all very peaceful and welcoming.

As a male, would you strip down to nothing and join them?

1) Yes

2) No

In my experience, if everyone is nude, in effect nobody's nude. I wouldn't have a problem stripping down along with everyone else.

Not a big fan of beaches -- all hot and bright and sunburny. I do like rivers, lakes and hot springs, though.
As I don't normally wear bathing attire under my trousers when hiking or traveling, I just strip down and wade in.

I'd be more comfortable going topless than I would going completely nude. So I voted the fifth option.

I have vitiligo so I'm the guy you see at the beach with blue jeans, flannel shirt and a baseball hat as well as sunglasses. That's why I usually hit the beach at night. It's better at night anyway with high winds blowing sand in your ears.

If you don't mind, I'd like to ask about your feelings regarding being a stripper. Did you feel any psychological pain?

My introduction to nudism came about when a friend of mine invited me to accompany her and her two children -- ages 6 and 10 -- to a clothing optional hot springs. It took me an entire two hours to mentally and emotionally adjust to the traumatic experience of a whole resort full of families peacefully enjoying the day in various states of dress and undress. I don't know how I ever survived.

I've pretty much been trying to be nude or as close to it as I can my whole life.
Not in an inappropriate way or anything, but would be lying if I didn't say there weren't some hi-jinx now and again in my school daze.

The first time I got a chance to go to a nude/clothing optional beach I was bare and in the air

I LOVE the feeling of just me and the sky.

So in your scenario I wouldn't blink or twink twice.

Out of consideration and lack of blinds I usually wear a wrap of some sort around the house, these days

However, growing up I was in no such form, so much so that my family and friends branded my 'jungle boy'. I had no regard or thought for covering up while in the house. Also I nearly never had a shirt on outside or was at least not buttoned up the whole way.
Like I said... if I could be, I was getting close to it as possible.


Now winter... winter is another story I'm not a polar bear

I have been topless on a secluded beach, in the water back home. With my boyfriend the only person there.

I'm always amazed and how NO ONE... not even the 'beautiful' people are smooth under their clothes.
Textiles are quite flattering to all our bumps, lumps, hair and flabby parts...

We've all got our own little intricacies, but over all, we're a pretty funny shaped bunch.

I should have read the OP before voting no to going naked, if everyone else was naked I would go naked too, otherwise I'd be drawing more attention to myself and feel more self conscious, the clothing would have the opposite effect to what I wanted. A bit like a woman walking down the road in a burka, in Saudi Arabia she passes unnoticed, on Winchester high street everyone is staring at her.

Interesting that as of this moment there have been 202 views and 18 replies, which is a pretty average response, but there have been almost five times as many men voting as women: 21 to 4. C'mon women, whatda say?

Or does this ratio reflect the true makeup of RF?
