Do you like it? Fear it? Why?

I personally enjoy visiting. My dentist is lovely, modern and very attractive! :D He always does a good job and wears the correct gear, place is always cleaned and so on. I also just enjoy him poking around in my mouth, and um...yeah, that's as bad as it sounds.

What about you?

I haven't been to a dentist in about a decade or so.

I don't care for it because of the sensations of the tools against my teeth. I don't like that scrapping sensation. When I had braces and those bars on my jaws (whatever they were called), it wasn't fun having them tightened and slipped on and off.

I don't mind. The dentist I usually get is a rather attractive lass from India or Pakistan. Not that I get to look at her too much when the big shiny light is in my face.

My son-in-law is one. I will visit him tomorrow as a part of enamel on my front teeth has come off. I hope he would be able to put it right. Apply some paste and bake it with one of his machines, I suppose.

Depends if the dentist is good or someone I never heard of. If she's good (and most dentists seem female here) then it's very relaxing. You can almost sleep through it. I haven't gone to a dentist in 5 years though. Haven't had a reason to.

Going to the dentist is not one of my favorite pass-times, but it's all very modern and antiseptic. The people are cheery.

My dad was terrified of the dentist, but he was poor and grew up in the 1930's...

At least no one has combine

At least no one has combined the two words and called the other person fat-faced; at least not yet.
Fat face!

Btw, when your dentist asks you, "Is it safe?", either....
- He's a wicked comedian, or....
- He's a Nazi on the run.

For those who don't get it, google "Marathon Man".

I don't mind it. Sometimes I actually enjoy it, sort of.

The bills I could do without though.

I can't remember when they started charging for nhs dental treatment but I must have been about 30 at the time. Last month my charge came to £230. It would have been twice that private.

The dentists is alright. Soon I have to get all my wisdom teeth taken but I have to wait to get it done when I am no longer breastfeeding my daughter.

This doesn't sound good... Uhm. I don't think anyone really likes the sensation from the dental tools. You just go to ensure your teeth are in good health. =)
