I have found my way here as I am becoming more and more concerned at the rising power of fundamentalist religion in both the Middle East and America.
But my view is you do not overcome such threats by ignoring them rather shining a light of reason where there is the darkness of closed mindedness.
I would characterise myself as Athiest as all reason points in that direction.
Of course I am open to be proven wrong, but if one day I stand in front of the Supreme Being and am asked why I did not believe I would say that having been given the gift of reason, curiosity and the ability to evaluate evidence I used it to the best of my ability and the evidence was just not there.
If this is a sin then so be it.
