Due to a censorship issue with the Religious Forum's board of moderators, I will not, for the time being at least, be an active poster to these forums. If I see a change in moderation policy, I may resume posting.

Sorry to see you go Rich. I know I didn't post over here much, but I did enjoy reading a lot of the debates.

It's sad that some mods let their power go to their head, and feel the need to delete posts about comments against their specific religion. If I'm not mistaken, this is a RELIGIOUS forum, not a Christian forum, not a Jewish forum, etc.

And since they have areas for debate, it seems that debate is encouraged.

Too bad some people are too sensitive. Maybe they don't belong as mods?

I am the atheist that was responsible for deleting another atheist's post. Your ignorance of the facts is atonishing.

Pdoel, for your information the mod in question is not a theist. So do not assume religious bias or sensitivity or "power going to our heads". I am offended by your off-base assumption. We do encourage debate, but we have rules about respect here and while I will not get into the incident Rich is talking about, I stand behind the Moderators decisions in this matter.

I guess I was given missinformation. I was told it was a moderator other than pah, one who is a Christian, who just didn't like what was said.

I know Rich has tried several attempts to get an answer as to why the post and his thread were deleted, and so far, no response.

I do know that some comments were made that he was "off topic". But I read the thread, and saw MANY off topic comments in there, none of which, were deleted.

So it seems like the one comment just rubbed someone the wrong way.

I can fully understand that, but again, what's the point of debates, if everyone gets along, and no one tries to think of other ideas?

No, it 'seems' that you have a predisposition to take positions with little or no concern for evidence. Not good, in my opinion.

Actually, it "seems" you may not know what you are speaking of.

There are two incidences in question. In one case, Pah did delete a thread. In the other, it was a Christian mod who deleted a joke Rich made about Christians.

So, it "seems" I do know of what I speak.

And again, I read the thread in question where the one individual post was deleted. There were quite a few off topic remarks made, and a few disparaging remarks about other groups. So it's odd that this was the only post deleted.

I agree 100%. I know Rich loves to debate religion. I think sometimes, his humor may be taken the wrong way, but the guy's got a heart of gold.

I hate to see another atheist who loves beetles leave!! I got warned a few days ago myself.I'll just be a little more careful and not let it bug me too much. We all love the fact that we can come here and discuss things without constant bickering and cursing found on many other sites.The mods are just doing their jobs, and it's a good thing they do.All I'm trying to say is don't take it too hard,we all like you being here.If you need some time off ,that's cool,but remember your part of the family.
