great christian mystic of the past

i would like to know if the famous christian mystic and saint (women and men) of the past were all monks or some of them maried and had a job?

if there were give me the name and the job he or she was making

The thing with Mystics is the most well known ones are usually teachers and they usually abstain from the world. You will almost never hear about the quiet mystic who simply lives his/her normal life and keeps a balance between the world and God. That doesn't "sell" teachings because it isn't very memorable.
