Our phone/ internet connection isn't going to be turned off!

My mom was calling Qwest, who provides our service, and was explaining to the representative that we were having to cancel our service. He began asking her if this was due to service issues, and my mom said no, that was never the problem, that it was simply due to financial reasons. He asked "Well, when you get your service turned on, would you consider using us as your provider?" (I'm assuming he meant the company and was not referring to himself in the plural.) My mom said yes, that that was exactly what we'd been planning to do.
The person typed things into his computer for awhile (while making small talk with my mom) and finally said "How about this?" He said that the company would be willing to pay for the month of January, and that would give us a month to give us time to save up to pay off our past due balance. (I will be enough time, too!)
Everyone has been so incredibly supportive of me, and I was feeling very distressed at the thought of not being able to 'connect' with everyone here every day, which is why I'm even more overjoyed at being able to keep the service on. You guys bring me laughter, kindness, and thought-provoking questions (and question-provoking thoughts, too!). I cannot thank you enough for wishing me well and helping to cheer me up during what might have been a dark time, otherwise.
I could not ask for a better internet family.
