Is anyone else as exicted about this movie as I am?

I'm freaking out. I've already got my tickets for the opening show tomorrow, haha.

Since it first started being talked about, every time I seen a trailer, or read about it in a magazine, I get like a little panic attack because I'm so excited. I'm losing it. I can't sleep tonight because I'm so excited!

QT and Robert Rodriguez? Can you get any better than that?!

Anyone else going to see it opening weekend?

I won't be seeing it opening weekend, but if I can save up the money, I'll be seeing it eventually...lol. It may have to wait until DVD. I am really excited about it though. I like Rose McGowen anyway, but what can top a machine-gun leg???

Edit: Kinda funny that it's just us chicks posting excitement about this movie so far...lol.

I'm SO excited for it, that I'm even braving going out with my unsymmetrically chipmunked face to see it.

NOTHING could stop me from being there opening night, hahaha.

Ha! That's because us chicks are tons cooler than all the guys!

The BEST line from all the trailers "My scar scares you." "No... your car."

SOOOO GOOOOD!!! I'm losing it. I'm telling you, I'll never sleep tonight. AND I've got to brave work tomorrow, before the show. It's gonna suck!

I'm still smarting from “Sin City” but the ratings seem to be promising. The biggest observation critics seem to be making is that one movie is good and the other one is a stinker which is kind of an odd critique because that in essesnce is what a double-feature drive-inn movie is supposed to be. Heck thery are both grindhouse features they should (by rights) both be awful. I will go out of curiosity because these are basically the kind of movies that I like and it would be interesting to see how and if they can recreate this experience.

Well that's the point. They're both supposed to be so terribly awful, that they're absolutely amazing! :D

I don't think anyone is as excited as me, Harlot, haha.

I loved Sin City and From Dusk Til Dawn, so anything with Tarantino and Rodriguez collaborating together gets me jumping up and down like a school girl.

But, you're right Blayze........as excited as I am, I must concede that you are by far more excited than everyone else.

You remind me of how I was when Lord of the Rings: Return of the King was pending release. I had my tickets for the midnight screening weeks in advance and was practically peeing in my pants by the time we arrived at the theatre to get in line for seating...........at 9:30pm. :D

Peace,

Well Circle_One you know as well as I do that this genre performs best naturally and with hardly "no-money-down"and the experience is often difficut to recreate. "I Spit On Your Grave" and "The Night Of The Living Dead" were not envisioned to achieve the cult status that they have acquired today. I will give the two directors credit; they both have a passion for these kinds of films and I admire them resurrecting this genre through homage and they both have a history of being extraordinary visionaries. So even if Grindhouse seems manufactured and forgettable, it still should be a fun ride.

Cardero, (and anyone else who may be reading this), I cannot stress this enough:

GREATEST three and a half hours of my LIFE!

Granted, you have to be a fan of the genre to get all the gags, but man, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

I'm going to see it again tonight, haha!

ive always hated quentin terintino(his name is too hard to spell)films, so i shall not be seeing this. a hottie with an m16 for a leg which appears she never needs to re-load the launcher just seems a bit....dumb....sorry if i offended any of his fans. but i have given all of his movies a chance since the one with bruce willis almost getting sodomized, and i must say i hated every single one, so i shall not be seeing this.

For the record, Zayl, the film with the "a hottie with an m16 for a leg" (or Planet Terror, as it's called), isn't even the Tarantino film, it's the Rodriguez film. Tarantino did Death Proof.

The problem is, you can't go into a QT film and expect it to be a perfect Hollywood blockbuster. That's what QT DOESN'T do. And he doesn't do that because he doesn't WANT to do that. His super camp, super cult, super ridiculous films, are made that way on purpose.

I understand not liking his films, but to not like it because the idea seems dumb is ridiculous. The idea seems dumb because IT IS dumb. That's the whole point of Grindhouse. Two terrible, back to back movies, which are so absolutely awful, that they're absolutely amazing. If someone doesn't understand that, then yeah, of course they're not going to like movies like that, because they have different expectations.

I, for one, would rather see a completely terrible, absolutely ridiculously cheesy 70's Grindhouse flick any day of the week, than some retarded, $8 billion dollar budget, CGI infested hollywood ideal of a "good film".

But that's just me. And like PureX said, I'm am 100% total film geek.

And damn proud of it. :D

That's Pulp Fiction, baby. One of my favorites. :D

Oh, and don't worry about offending me. I went through all kinds of ostracization in high school when I kept trying to get everyone to watch The Toxic Avenger LOL.

I'll drink to that!!

And Zayl, the thing is, I don't get offended if people don't like the movies I do, hell, I'm not really surprised, they're not for everyone. However, I do get offended if people don't like the movies I do because they think they're just plain stupid, without even bothering to 1) give them a chance, and 2)realize that that's pretty much the point of the genre. You're not supposed to love them because they were scary, or freaked you out, or whatever. You love them because THEY'RE FUN! I can't stress that enough.

If you're going to watch them and nitpick about the continuity or the unrealness, or impossibility, or whatever, don't watch them. All of that, makes them FUN. It makes them campy, and culty and f*ing amazing.

You'll never find the same story line a thousand times over, just with different actors, like you do with Big Hollywood flicks. Guarenteed.

Thank the Gods for terrible 70's grindhouse!

Amen.
