Guess That God!

I'm going to post the accomplishments/story behind a God/mythological figure, and you have to guess what it's name is! After I'm done this one, please, join in with your own. The more interesting the better! (Figured this would be a great way to broaden our horizons, learn, and have fun at the same time!)

To start:

Mythological Figure

Was a welsh bard/wizard. Legends and poems of his are included in the Mabinogion. His origins are linked to Caridwen. Obtained knowledge of the past present and future from three drops magical potion that Caridwen brewed. He had been tending the fire when they had boiled over onto his finger, which he instinctively sucked on. Caridwen chased him relentlessly, both of them shapeshifting (Caridwen looking for a way to eat him). Finalli he ended up in the sea, and was pulled out by some fishermen, who called him ******** because of his shining forehead (Due to the immense knowledge contained).

Indeed. ;)

Figures you'd be the one to get it. :p

One more for me, then I'm gone:

God

The personification of mind and intelligence, created by the blood dripping from the phallus of Re. *** aided the sun God during his night journey through the underworld.

In Egyptian mythology, the only God that I can rememeber being mentioned with the sun god Ra concerning Ra's journey through the underworld is the sky god Shu, though Shu battled with Ra throughout the journey, he didn't aid him, so I'm thinking I'm wrong.

You are right Vigil!

Someone else's turn now. I thought we'd go by winner, but that depends on whether Vigil wants to do that.

Ummm... Another name for Faunus, his priests were sheep, goat, and wolf skins. His celebration is coming up soon.

Oooh, Lupercus is a good guess, I think! Unless I remember him wrong... Is he Hellenistic?

Yes, I believe he is Hellenistic.

And I'm pretty sure it's right, the Lupercalia festival is February 15th, so that ties in with Vigil's clue that the celebration's coming up. I hope I'm right, I can't think of any other names for the Faunus.

Oooh, my turn, alright.

Demi-God/ruler

Came to power by castrating his father. Ate his children until his wife tricked him by making him eat a rock while he thought it was a child. He was eventually banished to the underworld by the child that his wife saved, but soon fled to Italy and ruled under another name where his rule was said to be the golden-age on earth and a feast was named after him.
