Had an extremely horrible dream about an RF member...

I dreamed something awful happened to this person. I give no credence to dreams, but this one was very vivid and specific, I just hope it never comes true...

No, I dreamed that a regular poster on here had a dramatic life changing event, and well it was just sad. That's all.

What would be the odds of one of dozens of people having a life-changing event soon?
I dreamed Mystic found out she got cancer. I dreamed we were friends in real life  Then I remember seeing her in a head covering cause all her hair was gone.

Like I said it sucked and was odd... Sorry, maybe I should have just forgotten about it and not mentioned it, but there you go... It is just a dream, and of all the things I could have dreamed about her???????????????????????????????????????????????????

Breast cancer runs in my family. I don't rule out the likely scenario of one day being faced with battling cancer. Stop worrying, hon. If I did get cancer, I'll find a way of making the journey taking on the Big C fabulous. ;)

I suspect you would handle it like a champ. No worries, just a weird and sad dream. Thanks for being a sport!

Throughout my life, I've only had one thing that I've struggled with to remain strong, and that's my health. I have a tendency to mentally and emotionally handle most everything with flair and joy. My health has tended to be the thorn in my side. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to the hospital to be poked, prodded, looked over, tested, etc. with the docs shrugging their shoulders and sending me back home in pain or with severe illness.

I've never had cancer, and I'm sure it would knock my socks off with the kind of suffering they go through depending on what stage it's in. But, just understand that y'all just can't worry about these things happening. That's life, babe.

See that's what I thought. And with my family's history of cancer, Mike's dream just very well may come true at some point in my life.

Look at the odds.

EDIT TO ADD: Also the odds are that I would beat it, too. Nobody's died from cancer in our family. Actually, heart disease is the biggest killer for us.

This is only somewhat related, but this thread reminds me of my wife. We both, regularly, have very vivid and emotionally charged dreams. Sometimes these dreams involving the other person doing something really messed up to the other, or being very emotionally hurtful. When my wife has one of these, where I did something really wrong, she's often upset with me for awhile, and sometimes the better part of the rest of the day. I'm sure my laughing at her being upset at dream-me doesn't help the matter though. Conversely, I don't attach feel any emotion towards her when my dream of her is upsetting. Just a comment on how different people attach emotional significance to dreams.

I used to have bad dreams that involved my husband being unfaithful or cruel. He used to have dreams about me trying to kill him. :areyoucra

That was many years ago though. It seems whatever was creating those thoughts has passed. Now my scary dreams usually involve my children. Ugh.

Yeah, my mother has had prophetic dreams. She swears by them.

I've had horrific dreams before involving family and friends (and our kids, too, Anne). I also had extremely vivid dreams of being killed, tortured, etc.

Thing is, why do we worry when we have bad dreams that they'll happen, but don't think a thing of it when we have dreams of flying, or winning the lottery, or falling in love/having a fabulous romance? I notice those dreams aren't given the same prophetic weight as disaster dreams.

Food for thought.
