I have decided to summarize Hamas's 1988 charter. This is a work in progress and I'll finish it when I finish it. I have a lot of real life plans and obligations ahead of me, so it probably will take a while. Let the fun begin:
Below is the 1988 founding charter of Hamas, which is an Arabic acronym for 'Islamic Resistance Movement' as opposed to 'Palestinian Resistance Movement'. This distinction alone shows that religion rather than politics is at the heart of their desire to destroy Israel. This will become blindingly obvious as you read further. The charter was revisised in 2107 to, in my opinion, sanitize it for consumption by the collective West after they realized that they had said the quiet part out loud.
I have highlighted and numbered key phrases and commented on them below each section:
Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it (4), just as it obliterated others before it (5)" (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).
"The Islamic world is on fire. Each of us should pour some water, no matter how little, to extinguish whatever one can without waiting for the others (6)." (Sheikh Amjad al-Zahawi, of blessed memory).
1) "Those who have received the scripture" and "the people of the book" always mean Jews and/or Christians in the Qur'an. Obviously Jews are the target of this charter. This is one of many verses that claim or imply that they are not to be considered believers.
2) is one of countless insults directed at them because,
3) they refused to accept "the signs of Allah", which can refer to either the Bible and/or the Qur'an, depending on context. Usually, as in this case, it means the Qur'an unless otherwise stated or indicated.
4) establishes the murderous tone of this charter.
5) is an admission of Islam's violent history.
6) is inflammatory (no pun intended) rhetoric meant to galvanize the Islamic world.

18 August 1988
In The Name Of The Most Merciful Allah
"Ye are the best nation that hath been raised up unto mankind: ye command that which is just, and ye forbid that which is unjust, and ye believe in Allah. And if they who have received the scriptures had believed (1), it had surely been the better for them: there are believers among them, but the greater part of them are transgressors. They shall not hurt you, unless with a slight hurt; and if they fight against you, they shall turn their backs to you, and they shall not be helped. They are smitten with vileness wheresoever they are found (2); unless they obtain security by entering into a treaty with Allah, and a treaty with men; and they draw on themselves indignation from Allah, and they are afflicted with poverty. This they suffer, because they disbelieved the signs of Allah (3), and slew the prophets unjustly; this, because they were rebellious, and transgressed." (Al-Imran - verses 109-111).Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it (4), just as it obliterated others before it (5)" (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).
