I read in the Independant the other day that Israel was considering a prisoner swap of some sort if good evidence were to be produced showing that Shalit is alive. Any developments there?

Yeah, Hamas gave a 1 or 2 min. video of Shalit and Israel will give up some of the Palestinians women and children who were in its prisons. Amongst them a one or two years old child who was born in prison.
