Maybe you should post that in other language so that they wouldn't understand it, leaving other people 'not offended'.

It is so funny to me how devisive we can be yet we feel compelled to so overly inclusive. When I was a kid we had Hanukkah and Christmas and all that really meant to me was presents! With a Jewish mom and Baptist dad I got both! Well boy did I miss out cause if I was born later I would have gotten a few extra nuts and fruits for Kwanza, cause I'm half black too. I was ripped off!

I just find it amazing. I have recently read articles by Atheists lamenting being told "Merry Christmas", Christians advocating boycotting stores displaying "Happy Holidays", Atheists wondering what to do when the hollidays roll around, and Christians actualy getting upset if they hear an Atheist say the words "Merry Christmas".

The overzealous come from both sides of the theological extremes.

Being a Catholic, it does not bother me or make me upset. Perhaps I would greet them in return.:D

I hear "merry Christmas" all day long from my customers. They buy me gifts and send me cards. It's not my deal, but I certainly don't get upset about it and I am flattered that they think of me. Some of them "in the know" wish me a happy Ramadan. My store is in a a very Christian area, so I am touched when this happens.
People are so programed into thinking this is the time of year that EVERYONE must have a celebration they get confused and ask me what I'm celebrating right now. It's cute. The guy in the store next to me is Hindu and was asking me what hours I thought would be good to operate during certain holidays. He is totally out of the loop so I gave him a little American holiday breakdown.

Haha it is over sensitive. we celebrated Hannukah, we celebrate Christmas, today we are doing a Kiddush service (receiving the Jewish Sabbath), I am Jewish/Atheist, and my fiancee believes in God, rejects Christianity and is very positive to Hebrew tradition, the way she is opinionated of the Bible, Jewish tradition, Israel and the middle east together with the experience of being awary from Israel has kicked me back towards Judaism, but now I also have a chance to experience Christmas for the first time, snow, tree, presents, and everything.

^_^ Happy Holidays works for me, but if some one were to wish me a Merry or Happy <insert holiday here> I would wish them the same and tell them to have a Good Yule as well.

And this is how it looks, red wine, braided bread and Sabbath candles together with the not-so-kosher dinner I cooked, with the modest Christmas tree in the background:

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
I'll tell you what's pitiful - for years, before all the "Happy Holidays" flap, I said "Happy Holidays" to customers and casual acquaintances rather than "Merry Christmas" because I didn't KNOW if they celebrated Christmas, or ANYTHING - but I did know that it is a traditionally holiday season, so "Happy Holidays" felt nice and respectful for me to say to anyone.

Now I'm even paranoid to say THAT because some Christians might get offended and think that I (and I am a devout Christian) am trying to be politically correct or "multicultural" (as if that's a bad thing) or ANTI CHRISTMAS.

DAMN! HAPPY FREAKING HOLIDAYS, PEOPLE! GET OVER YOURSELVES! BAH HUMBUG TO YA!

I'm personally celebrating Christmas and Yuletide - don't know about the rest of you, but I intend to have a fantastic time.
