Happy Things.

Seeing j4l's post on being depressed made me remember I wanted to start this. Post things that are good for you and make you feel good. Nothing that's bad for your body counts!

- go out for a walk
- go out to eat, just because
- buy yourself something you've wanted for a while and haven't let yourself get
- color something with crayons (yeah, the ones you have to peel the wrapper off when the crayon goes flat. That kind.) Besides making you happier, the smell of crayons actually decreases blood pressure!
- next time you're walking somewhere, walk on the curb and don't pay attention to whether other people stare or not
- engage your kids in a game of hide and seek. Yes, you have to play!
- organize something. Sometimes physical cleaning can make your emotions feel more organized!
- do something that requires concentration. Sometimes things in your mind just need to simmer.
- bake something. Yes, real baking, bread machines and instant recipes are not allowed! Fresh-baked cookies have the best smell in the world!

- Swimming
- Sitting in a nice sunny spot and just dozing (sunlight helps develop some kind of protein, though I can't remember what off the top of my head)
- Eating fruit (I love the taste of chilled fruit! :D)
- Meditating
- Breathing exercises
- Making a clay pot/sculpture. I have Pottery class first period, and getting into clay and kneading it is one of the most relaxing things to do first thing in the morning
- Singing and dancing along to your favorite song

- if you're stuck inside a lot, buy a sunlamp. Studies have shown that people who are exposed to more sunlight have a generally happier and cheerier mood!

And they're still non-toxic!

-as Saw has shown, refrain from eating crayons and playdoh. It may give you Fuzzy Logic Syndrome.
