It's clear that we need a return to the good old days when you either couldn't get insurance or you lost it as soon as you got sick. Now, nobody has an incentive to become a multimillionaire anymore. Why should they? They have free health care for life. Just as soon as the web site is up and running again.

Or you could have the thrill of the roller coaster of having it, and not having it, and having it again, and not having it again. And oddly, so far I've went through not having when the ACA took effect to having it because I was 24 or 25 at the time, and then not having it, and then having it again, and for the next phase I don't know if I don't know what and where I'm going to have to apply at. But, I do know if the state doesn't allow me to continue through HIP I'm going to have to reregister for the federal site, be denied because of HIP, file for HIP again, be redenied, file the appeals, have my applies denied and then call someone at the federal site so I can get registered. All because Indiana didn't want to accept medicaid expansion money or set up their own state site.
But then again, I'll be out of the country by the time all the tax stuff comes up, so I doubt I even bother with the mess.

Do your single quotation marks indicate dubious attitude towards my son....who is in Michiganistan?
I'm also curious...the quotation marks seemed rather bizarre. Can't say I know the intention behind them, but even with my liberal and sometimes heavy use of quotation marks it seemed odd.
By the way, does Michigan have anything that causes an automatic denial on the federal site?

I don't know. I avoid having him explain his difficulties in detail. But the problem seems to be his dental plan, rather than a state issue.

O-bomb-ya "care" is unconstitutional. To have the Supreme court Moron-jority call it a "tax" shows they are either stupid or bought. Corporations have no right to levy taxes. Lawfully - there are (depending on how one counts) 30-32 legitimate "ennumerated powers" that the federal govt is ALLOWED to exercise. They are banned from dealing with issues not in these ennumerated powers.
Health dictatorship is not in their legitimate purview. Period.
The ACA itself only empowers the worst parts of American Medicine - the worst in the industrialized nations, and will doubtless increase the costs far beyond current ludicrous levels. We spend MORE on healthcare than the next 10 largest health spending countries COMBINED for the worst care. Over 120,000 deaths by drugs alone. Worst infant mortality rates (yeah, keep pumping your kids w/vaccines if you want them killed or sick and expensive) worst maternal mortality rates, lowest expected lifespan, next generation is the first with an expected shorter lifespan in centuries, etc.
Nothing was done to make this horrible system increase health, just insurance coverage - which is weaseling out of payments in creative new ways.
As for the Koch Bros putting on a fake ACA problem, i've blogged with individuals (mostly out here in Cal) who have had their coverage killed because even though they are over 60 yrs old - they didn't have pregnancy coverage - yeah. Smart. Most of those i know have had their coverage costs increase by at least 50% - and i personally don't know of a person that has had any decrease in coverage.
Logic? If everyone were covered by insurance - the gamble of insurance is worthless. Just pay doctors to fix stuff and leave the money to insurance out of the picture TOTALLY - they are the death panels.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to argue against government regulations when people say they don't mind their kids coming down with measles, polio, mumps, and other things that were horrible childhood diseases until vaccines came around that has made these problems a thing of the past. But go ahead, don't vaccine your kids, and let's wait as the cases of polio jump to just a few to a few hundred, then a few thousand.

I didn't notice this thread until now.

Harry Reid??? uggggg

At this polnt, as Harry Reid loses his control as Majority Speaker in the Senate, largely because America rejected Obamacare, it won't matter what Harry Reid much says anymore come January, though his corrupt networks in Nevada will still (for now) effectively be in place.

My question is, how come Harry hasn't been arrested yet. There were a couple of probes that Obamanists blocked and had Eric Hold-up-ers covered up for, but it was the more "minor" ones that disturb me the most. The one that really sickens me though minor compared to the others is how Reid’s campaign staff spent some $30,000 buying appreciation gifts for his donors from a store owned by his granddaughter. Disgusting corruption, I hate the channeling of money to one's siblings. After becoming Senate majority leader in 2007 he has built a shameful network of business alliances benefiting his own relatives.

All his multi millions he made after becoming Senate speaker were made either buying some plot of dirt on the cheap then getting some government project or development to turn that plot of dirt into million plus real estate value in associated development impact, or insider stock trades. It is quite extensive actually, in particular the first example.

His own son, Rory, who was then run as Governor in 2010 on the coat tails of Harry's business alliances and mounting networks of self-interest, was involved in a $900,000 campaign donation illegal activity which now perhaps can be fully investigated. Thank God his son lost that election, currently he is a lawyer who is Chairman of the Clark County Commission in Clark County, Nevada.

In fact, in the near future a lot of things about Harry can hopefully be investigated, once and for all. Love to find out about the Wang Yusuo Chinese billionaire connection. I guess he thought this Love Boat would go on forever.

I didn't know that only about 30% of the voting population voting meant "America" said anything other than it didn't vote. The Republicans themselves are hardly viewing this as a victory, only the true nuts are proclaiming it a mandate, and some strategists are seeing it as in indication of problems the Republicans will fact in 2016. One R-commentator put it "the Republicans were the popular girl at a party nobody showed up at."

So, what does this say about the Democrats that did not show up? Obviously, they had less desire to see that their party win. Which really says they basically voted for the other party by not voting.

I voted. But apparently democrats don't vote in midterms. I'm still pissed people voted Rick Scott back into office and medical marijuana didn't pass in FL. FL was flooded in NRA mailers and negative commercials.
