Has ReligiousForums being hijacked...?

Hi

When I normally in front of my PC, and I open up Firefox, among the tab, is ReligiousForums, which is working fine.

But when I open up different browsers (like Chrome, Safari), or browsers on another and different computers (like my laptop or my tablet), I get redirected to a site called AspiesCentral.

What is going on?

Do anyone else have the same problem?

A few people have had that problem. It happened to me once.

Be careful, don't try visiting that AC website on Firefox or add a secure connection prefix (HTTPS) to RF. Firefox will then keep redirecting you to it in future visits.

As for the other browsers, clear the cache, both online and offline if there is an option for that. This is the basic solution.

Has anyone told the RF techies about this? From the source of the html I can tell which Xenforo add-on causes his (I can tell in PM which) , though I have no idea how the configuration for the add-on is handled.

Thank you Smart_Guy.

Clearing the cache work for Safari, but unfortunately didn't work for Chrome.

I tends to use Firefox on my desktop PC and Chrome for my laptop. I do use Safari, but normally just on my iPad.

I don't know if I am doing it right with Chrome.

I was wondering if you (or anyone else who could help) can get a step-by-step run-down of what I could do with Chrome browser settings, so that I could religious forums open in Chrome.

I tend to have the redirect most often while using Firefox. I've recently been clearing my cache several times a day and that seems to help with Chrome. I've given up using Firefox to come here.

You're welcome.

I'm a Firefox only user, unfortunately. When I had the problem in Firefox, I spent a whole day fixing it. The trick was to make FF forget all about RF. Check if there is a way to make Chrome forget about all of RF's URL history like deleting the history records of the browser but for RF only. I'm not familiar with Chrome, sorry.

I had been able (edit: unable) to get to RF, because of the redirect since Friday evening (more than 1.5 days) I logged onto RF at the time and it happened as I was going from one page to another.

Then, I couldn't get RF to show up after trying to delete all browsing history and cookies, disk cleanup, and restarting. I tried using going to the Google page, Yahoo page, and some others, but it didn't work.

After I opened Internet Explorer, instead of Microsoft Edge (which I don't like, but seems to keep coming back after every update) I was able to get in using Explorer.

It's pretty ridiculous to have to go through all that mess. Thanks for doing all that just to hang out with us weirdos. :)

If you are having issues with HTTPS/HTTP in FF do the following

1. Open a new tab, type about:config in the address bar. Accept the disclaimer
2. Search for browser.urlbar.trimURLs Set it to false
3. Now all tabs will display HTTP and HTTPS prefixes.

Make sure you clear your FF Cookies and change any bookmark you have for RF to HTTPS.

This was fixed today. It only affected a few people and was not a security risk. It had to do with us using https in the past and then removing it.
