Soul you seemed focused on christianity here with a lot of posts in reference to it and you started to read the Bible. What are a few things you learned about Christianty from this site

How have you changed since becoming a part of RF?

I don't think it has changed me. But I certainly enjoy the privilege of chatting and debating with so many intelligent, knowledgeable people on so many interesting,thought-provoking subjects.

Thank you, Rex!:)

I admire seeing the change in other people when I visit RF. There were a few people who actually came out of the gate spitting fire but have since become an important part of the community which goes to show you the power of the RF members once we get to know each other. It's difficult but I try to measure my own change by reading some of the older posts in my computer (I save all my debates) that I have had since I first registered. It’s interesting because my relationships have changed with many people. My relationships with Master Vigil and Ceredwin and Hope and Soultype01 and SOGFFP are all quite different from when I first started. Actually reading back on those first few posts it is amazing at how far I have grown spiritually and intellectually from just being in everyone’s presence. It is a great opportunity to see UNDERSTANDING in action.

Well, I've learned to duck! :D

In reality I love a verse from scripture:" As iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another." It applies to our iron woman too! :D

It has helped me to vent many things I have had bottled up for 34 years, without people looking at me with strange expressions on their faces (well, at least I can't see the expressions now):p

It has helped me learn how to argue better. And I suppose my outlook on my spirituality has changed as well. But change is inevitable, struggling against it is an option.

It's made me more courageous in speaking my mind, even if my opinion is completely mistaken. It's made me treasure the person I am and feel honored that people can recognize that, even through the internet. (Although it never feels as if I'm speaking 'through' anything to talk to everyone. Odd, that.) It's affirmed my beliefs that people from all backgrounds can bring wisdom that you might not know otherwise. (And, in very rare cases, stupidity, too. That's only in the cases of the negative folks, that don't tend to stick around very long unless they change their attitude.)

I thought this thread deserved to be resurrected.

Rf has had a profound affect on many aspects of my life. The difference that is easiest to see is that in my belief system. The following beliefs are just some of those of which I held the opposite to when I first came to RF and their change comes as a direct result of the productive debate and interaction with this forums wonderful members:
- that gay marriage and straight marriage should not be recognised by the state
- that there is actually a lot of sense in conservatism (he says grudgingly :)).
- that all drugs should be legalised
- that wearing leather is okay sometimes
- that Roman Catholics are lovely people too (the opposing belief seems so alien to me now I can't image how I ever could have held it!)
- that global scepticism is not a valid path for me to follow (that was a 'biggie' for me)
- that free will is an illusion

and tons of other things too. My understanding of many scientific concepts such as evolution has increased dramatically from tapping the immense source of knowledge that seems to be contained in some of our member's brains.

So I want to thank everybody for having such a positive impact on my life so you all know that you have made a difference to at least one person's life :).
