Hate the player or hate the game

Hate the player or hate the game?

This was being debated on another forum so I thought I would bring it here for your thoughts/views.

Should you hate the player or hate the game?

A couple responses/arguements were
1. Hate the player. Without the player there would be no game.
2. Hate the game. Without the game there would be no player.
3. Hate them both because their existence is dependant on each other.

I guess it depends on what the game is.

I hate the player who plays the game; because in spite of what #2 and #3 says, without the game, the player would still exist, he would only be playing a different game; perhaps a game I would approve of.

No hate needed, if you got involved in one the other comes with it.

Can you give some context or an example?

I was also thinking that there may be situations where it's not the player or the game, but something external to that.

For example, if the game is boxing or some kind of combat sport, then the spectators also play a role, since neither the game nor the players would exist without an audience and some form of financial remuneration, which is where the promoters and venue owners come into play.

How about just learn to play better yourself.
I mean what the hell, you going to hate someone for being better at a game than you?

I look at it as a challenge to overcome or beat. Or just not play the game at all. If you can't hang then go play some other game.
No need to hate either.

How about this? The Trans-Atlantic slave trade was the game, and the various countries that participated in it were the players.
I seriously doubt that was the context the OP had in mind?

3. But there is the "intention", which can be darker or brighter then the actions themselves.

In hadiths, it said the disbelievers actions are dark, while the disbelievers is darker in state/intention then the actions themselves. And a believer actions bright, but his intention and state is brighter then the actions.
