Like nothing else ever, liberating, exhilarating and over far to quickly. I was tandom with an instructor. If i was on my own I don't think i would have ever wanted to open the parachute and that is scary. The thought has prevented me jumping solo.

I actually jumped out of a plane without a parachute.

Well, actually, I walked out of the plane. And the plane wasn't in the air at the time. It was connected to a jetway leading to a gate in the terminal.

But I did so without a parachute.

It was emotional but not "scary" (unless a rollercoaster is scary for you). Loved it.

I am scary of heights and fall, more so since I tried to cross a 75 degree glacier slope with two children in tow and no equipment or training (I backed off). But I suppose I will manage a parachute jump with proper training even at this age (80 now).

Because of my social fears and anxieties, the other people who were scanning me all the time to see if I was nervous too made me a lot more nervous than the idea of jumping out of a plane.
That part was kinda easy really.
Things can be so relative.

A colleague of mine once remarked - in all seriousness, and in this context - 'Parachute?......I wouldn't use one of those xxxxxxx things to save my life!'

Hell, even being dropped from the airborne tower is pure adrenaline.

I remember in airborne school the guy being sent up the airborne tower, and the loud speakers going, talking him through it stop by step as we all watched the first day.... then he gets released and falls without the parachute working, smacking into the ground.

Later after so many quit you find out it was a dummy they drop to intentionally scare you.
