Wow! you certainly have met the 'right people'; I can only claim to have met Rolf Harris (I guess he counts as a celebrity) and Marie has met Richard Branson; and oh, I met Charley Pride in Bournemouth after a concert.:)

The only celebraties I have ever seen have been local ones. I know and jam with my friend's dad regularily. He used to play lead guitar in a pretty successful band, successful enough that he had toured across the county once. I have also jammed with many other bands from around the area, and I hope to create a band in the near future. Have I met anyone really famous? No, but I have met a lot of decently well-known people as a temporary bassist.

Also, I met the former governor at a street fair when I was fire-eating. I suppose that was pretty cool.

Buckshot Jones, who drove NASCAR for a few years was a high school classmate of mine.

I knew Chipper Jone's first wife, Karin, since second grade, so I met him October 1993 at the 5 year reunion. That was 6 months before he blew out his knee and missed the 1994 season, and 2 years before he helped the Atlanta Braves win the World Series. He seemed like a real nice and normal guy before he got rich and famous.:p

I live in Austin where celeb sitings are normal but I have never met anyone. If I had a nickel for everyone else I associate with who has met one I wouldn't need to work anymore.

I met Tom Selleck back when I played volleyball for OU. My coach knew him, and he came to a tournament in Chicago. The whole team went out to dinner with him.

I have been to Richard Simmons house. He is as fruity in real life as he is on TV.

I met Bart Conners who has a gym back in my home town of Norman, OK.

And I did not meet Jim Morrison, but the house that is on his birth certificate, 2100 Vernon Place, Melbourne, FL, is the same exact house that I lived in when my daughter was born. So Maya and Jim Morrison were born in the same house. :D Maybe that's why she's so musical.

Kelly Slater is really good friends with a surfer friend of mine. Kelly came to my friends Halloween party and he was dating Pamela Anderson at the time, so I got to party with Kelly Slater and Pam Anderson :jam:

I find it distressing that those whom society "celebrates" are celebrated only for their being well-known, rather than for any noteworthy accomplishments on their part.

Our universities are full of scientists and philosophers making major contributions to human thought and technology; people whose works and writings will be known a century from now.

Today's actors and pop-stars will fade into obscurity.

On that note, Seyorni, mine is someone I think will be known a century from now, heheee.

"Gordon" from Sesame Street. He was signing autographs for kids outside a store in Michigan. When I got into the line, I was the only adult, but I was pleased to see some others join the cue after me. Maybe my 'bravery' led them in?

I didn't want an autograph. Thankfully, what I did want, he was okay with giving, and that was a hug.

What more can you ask from someone who was so crucial in your upbringing?

One for the Jedis on the forum, I guess. About the only famous person I ever met (apart from the actors from Emmerdale - a British soap opera - that I used to bump into all the time growing up in Leeds) is Ian McDiarmid (sp?). That's the guy who played the Emperor in the Star Wars films. I bumped into him on the tube and then had to endure severe embarrassment as a friend of mine kept doing Darth Vader impressions.

The only celbrity I've met is someone that has been a major influence and part of my life so Seyorni although they may not be remembered in a hundred years she means a lot to me. My favorite singer Bif Naked. I've gotten to hang out on her bus after her concerts 3 times and sit around and talk with her and her band. Hopefully if it ever happens again I won't be so excited and nervous as I have been and be all uptight...although I imagine I will be.

I've met Dorothy Morris, Edian McCoy, and M.R. Sellars. If anyone here has the chance to meet at least Sellars at a book signing or something, you should definitly go. If you get lucky enough to meet him at a small place and a large crowd doesn't happen, he is a great person to talk to.
I've met a number of pro-wrestlers, including Shawn Micheals, Ax of Demolition, Honky Tonk Man, King Kong Bundy (I was kinda of dissapointed, since he's not a giagantic as I always invisioned him. I'm actually a few inches taller than he is.), Disco Inferno (Glenn Gilberti), and Road Warrior Animal.
