Head Transplants now possible! Bodies needed!

Wow... The premise of a cheesy movie from the 60s that actually came true (sort of)...

Anyone want to guess if the guy being planned for first head transplant will go insane on waking up or if he will just take time to adjust to the strange physical stimuli? And why?

What is the purpose of this procedure? Why should I, or anyone, think this is a good idea?
Most people go through life thinking that nothing bad will ever happen. Perhaps it doesn't seem important now, but suppose that someday you need another head? I think then you will see the merits of this procedure. So go ahead and laugh at others, but one of these days you may very well change your mind on this subject. Literally.

He will probably never be able to sense the replaced body. It depends upon how much of his spinal cord they include in the transplant, but I think that mainly the idea is just to keep his head alive on the 'New' body. I think they will simply cut the head off rather than attempt to plug his spinal cord in, so...there won't be much sensation at all.

They will work on rewiring the connections and using electricity to simulate the new connections. One of the surgeons has practiced the procedure on 1000+ mice. That said, I'm not very optimistic yet, but this will work in the future.

Here's the guy who volunteered, he has genetic Werdnig-Hoffman disease:

This is crazy. This guy is going to sacrifice limited mobility for no mobility?

My wobblehead detector just went off.
