Heaven

I can not bare for a loved one or friend to suffer a moments pain. The idea I would never see a loved one again, yet I'd exist for all time, would drive me to distraction. How could I live an eternity in heaven knowing that some of my friends and family are either a) suffering eternal torment b) gone forever? I'd be in hell. So either everyone I love is in heaven (regardless) or I'm in hell. If I were a good Christian would the Christian god condem me to an eternity of misery because my loved ones were not?

I believe that most of your friends and family will not be in 'hell' if any of them. They aren't gone forever. I believe that I will see all the members of my family after I die and that I will be with them forever. God doesn't do that, He loves everyone and wants everyone to return unto Him.

Such a petty god doesn't exist. Have no fear

I know exactly what you mean. This and multiple other reasons contribute to my disbelief in Hell.

By the way, welcome to the forum!

Your assuming you know what heaven is and what it feels like to be there.

Aren't we all just assuming? Unless there's been a recent discovery I'm unaware of. Obviously this person is going by what many christians understand the bible to say. That is why my response was specifically about that particular version of god and heaven.

Ushta dawny:)

Yes, its true but faith , specially, blind faith but all faith is a matter of spiritual belief. It does not proof to others that you are right, it only makes you think you are right, unless of course you have belief and gnosis then you are sure you a right:bounce

Hi honeststeve :)
No He would not condemn any true follower to misery. God will change us upon the resurrection. And we will have peace and eternal joy with God. At this present time we cannot know how God will overcome the problem that your thoughts are leading you to identify. But be assured no matter what the eternal destination of our loved ones, those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savoir will not suffer any misery.
