Hello, everyone

I've just signed up here on RF and I figure that I have everything to gain from making myself known to the Catholic DIR. I enjoy challenging myself in apologetics, and have no doubt that I'll have plenty of opportunity for that here on RF. I'm curious to know how active this DIR is (I notice that the last post was made all the way back in May* of this year, so I take it that it is not overly active at all).

Regardless, pleasure to be here.

Hi Stalwart.
I was born and raised Catholic. I'm not really theistic any more. But I still have a great fondness for Mother Church.
I especially love Easter Vigil Mass. A huge celebration of Hope!

And my church has the best Peace and Justice committee in town.

Hello and Welcome Stalwart! Welcome to the forum! I'm not sure why you think the last post was made this May, if you simply click 'Recent posts' you will find the last post made here is much much earlier :)

Hi, Terese. I was referring specifically to the Catholic DIR, in which this thread is posted. And pardon me, I meant last topic/thread*, not 'post'. I'm inquiring as to the level of activity in this DIR.

Hi Stalwart, and welcome. You're definitely right about the opportunities available in these forums to practice apologetics. As target-rich environments go, this place is a gold mine. Almost nobody outside of the Catholic DIR will agree with you on anything theological, but many will engage in stimulating exchanges and debates that can be fun and good for sharpening your skills. As I always hope, maybe you or I or another Catholic will say something here or there in these forums that draws someone toward our Lord's truth.

The Catholic DIR is not especially active, in part I suppose, because not that many Catholics are active on RF. I haven't been active myself for a few months, but I just started looking at it again this evening. We could do with more Christians and especially Catholics, so I'm glad you're here.

Welcome.

As a rare reader here, I can say that, for me, the best questions I've found in this thread focus on catechetical questions or adult faith formation.

Apologetics is not an interest of mine, rather evangelization of the Gospel. I imagine the religious debate forum would have more discourse, but with a huge plurality of traditions and spiritual paths on this message board, I don't see as much "action" in this thread.

Welcome and Happy Advent!

I know that I am a little late in this, but welcome.

As you almost certainly realise by now, being a Catholic on these forums will require some thick skin at times. I hope you stick around for awhile.
