Devout Atheist
Just another Beliefnet regular checking out the digs...figured this was the best place to start.
I'm more of an activist, so private forums were never my thing. I prefer to interact with those that think differently and challenge my non-beliefs in a public fashion (and visa versa), but I couldn't come here without joining the non-theist private group.
I'm what I like to call a 'natural atheist'...as I was never indoctrinated into a religious faith and came about my atheism naturally...through the accumulation of knowledge and the practice of facing reality. My hippie parents encouraged me to be independent and to seek out knowledge on my own, with guidance, of course...but never over bearing.
I was lucky enough to have a grandpa that was very much into technology and computers in particular. I don't know that many people my age that can honestly say that their grandfather got them into computers and technology. I'm now 47 and work as an IT Manager.
I was born and raised in California and have lived all over the state, north, south and in the middle.
I am looking forward to checking this place out as time allows and getting to know those of you that have built this community. This may or may not end up being a good fit, but I am here to find out.
Thanks,
-Druac
