Hi everyone :bounce
I have been an atheist all my life. I didn't start off as religious and then lose my faith. I was sent to Sunday School, went to Church every sunday, had to pray and sing hymns at Primary School and did St Georges parades with the Scouts. Throughout all this I was skeptical of the Biblical claims and never felt the connection to God that others professed to have.
An avid reader from a young age I devoured all of the science books and copies of National Geographic and New Scientist in my parents house. I found scientific explanations far more intellectually satisfying than religious ones and acceptance of ignorance preferable to filling the gaps with God. This was the start of a lifelong love of science that despite me not finding a job in science has never died.
I wasn't sure what to expect on a predominantly religious forum but I was pleasantly suprised to see real discourse between people of varying religions and no religion. Normally its just a flame war
Nice to be here
