To be honest I'm on the fence about staying. This site seems more about I out debate than sharing....

Debates generate very very large threads so you see it pop up on the recent threads frequently. But there are regions of the site that do not allow to debates, only discussion. If you don't care to see the debates those sections are a good resource.
Any of the sections marked dir or marked discussion do not have debates. :)

Welcome! If you aren't into debate, that isn't all there is, though the debate threads seem to get the most popularity.

I find it interesting that your family has it's own path. How was it growing up for you in that path vs. seeing other people's religious practices from the outside? :)

This is great, I hope you will be able to work with them. I have a friend who had an opportunity at internship helping special needs kids many years ago, he met a lot of very endearing personalities learning a lot from them.

By the way, your name means "Face" in my language. :)

I had to be careful about who I told. Some people where okay with it and others would bully me over it.

I think the most annoying part was when others would try to tell me what I "really" believed or acted like they knew more about Judaism than they did.

Honestly though, being lesbian was much more of a problem in my life.

Welcome to the Forum. What are you studying in college, and what would you study if tuition and expenses were free, and you didn't need to consider cost/benefit?

I’m studying psychology so I can work with special needs kids and I would still do the same thing if college was free :)
