well, he did twist everything, and come off as a jerk as he did it, i personally am not surprised, if you took the time to read the whole thread up to the point he finally left, you would know that.

and once again, dislike unites people. What weird creatures we are...

It goes deeper than that, Buttons; we all may disagree on this and that and whatever, we may all even be jerks to each other in the process, but when someone comes in here specifically to be a jerk, that's different.

Put it this way; we're all playing in the sandbox, and sometimes we throw sand at each other, but if some duffous comes along unzipping his fly, getting ready to turn it into his personal litter box---well, it's our sandbox and we're all going to take turns giving the new kid a wedgie.

Yes, but it doesn't change the fact that we never unite on things like peace :p we're just upset that our territory is being compromised.

That's really pretty funny. 240 posts and I don't think one single, solitary person saw things Waymarker's way. There are some people here on RF I never in a million years thought I would agree with, but it looks like I was wrong. :D
Yes, I've been gone for a couple of days, so when I got back I was catching up. Maybe that's how come I realized we were all so together on this. I laughed.

heh, buttons, oh and i wasn't trying to badmouth you or say you didn't. That part of my comment was for other people. Try not to think of ME as the unecessary jerk. I come off that way sometimes, but i'm really just a sweetie at heart.

Good Point! But maybe the awareness of how much we really have in common will change things just a little?

Right, but I raised an impoertant valid point for debate about whether we should befriend Jesus-rejecters, this is a debate forum after all..:)
Like I said, if we accept a Satanists friendship request, that'd make him and his mates boast that we approve of their activities wouldn't it?

Trust me when I tell you no Satanist gives a damn about being accepted by a Christian.

The thought is hysterical.

Yes we do. It's just that it's like watching the hands move on a clock; it happens so slowly you don't really notice it.

It still goes deeper that that. it goes back to what I was saying about the two kinds of people in the here;

There are reasonable people, or people who are at least willing to be reasonable, and they don't all believe the same thing or go to the same church so there are differences of opinions, but essentially, they're the same in that they want the same things;

---to express themselves
---to understand and to be understood
---to address misconceptions about their own beliefs and (hopefully) shed some of their own misconceptions about other people's beliefs.

Since, reasonable or not, we're all subject to our own emotions, insecurities, opinions, and biases to some extent there are going to be misunderstadings and conflict.

That's all just part of the refining process.

The other type of people are (*sinister organ music*) the nefarious members of the secret organization known as the Society of Holier Than Thou Hypocrites and Egomaniacal Apostles of the Double Standard.

These people just want to spread contention, misunderstanding, and seperation; it isn't a by-product of normal, fallible, human communication in their case, it's the actual (and only) agenda.

So there's no hope of any kind of positive outcome when these people are involved, other than showing the rest of us that we really aren't as screwed up as we could be.

First off- I am sorry your troll left, Nowhere Man.

Second- I have been thinking the past couple of days since he left, that he wasn't truly a Christian at all. He was probably trying to "act" the way he believed that Christians act. You guys probably already figured that out- I am sort of naive and take people at face value. But... once bitten, twice shy. ;)
